Big, bold, and British! O.G. 1080, 100 IBUís, AbV 8.5%. She is amber/copper in color with a strong persistent head. An intense hop aroma is deliverd by copious amounts of English Styrian Gold and Kent Goldings hops. She is full bodied with a strong sweet malty toffee/caramel backbone that supports the 4.3 pounds of hops per barrel making her a very bitter, but delectible woman.

Tap at the brewpub. Semi-hazy orange pour with a thin white head. Mild citrus hop nose. Medium thin palate. Slightly unbalanced citrus hop flavor.

I actually didnít even know it was a DIPA when I tried it. It is a pretty tame DIPA.

Arrived a cloudy yellow/orange color with a quick fading white head. Light alcohol heat in the nose, sweet overall with a light citrus nose with a strong earthy note. Flavor has a very strong hot alcohol presence up front. Mild earthy and light orange citrus kick in the middle. Finishes with a continuance of the strong alcohol flavor, very much like rubbing alcohol. Body is light, coming from the alcohol lightening it up a bit too much and almost feels as though its drying out your tongue. Overall minus the alcohol hurt, not too bad of flavors present. But that rubbing alcohol kick really makes it hard to drink more than one of.

On tap at brewpub, Iím hoping I got a bad batch or something because this was not what I expected, pours an unclear orange color with no head, aroma is more malt than hops and the flavor is much of the same, very thick and not very enjoyable, hardly no hop notes to it. Iíll have to go back and give this one another shot.

A nice IPA. This beer pours a orange color with a big white head. Lots of lacing around the glass that sticks throughout. Smell is floral with hops and citrus. A very smooth taste of citrus and hops. Good stuff!

On tap at the brewpub - Amber pour with a small foamy white head. The hops are really muted on the nose. They donít smell particularly fresh or pungent, with just a bit of citrus, light malt, and a bit of sharp booze. Taste is light citrus hops with tons of sweet malt and some grassy finishing hops. Too much heat on the finish though--you really feel the 8.5%. Itís medium-bodied, with a nice smooth body, but the imbalance of malt over hops is weird. Just didnít expect that from this beer.

Bottle from brewery. Amber red with some head. Fairly light on the hopping for the style, at least in the nose. Ok bitterness. Not the best not the worst. Not a repeat.

Tap at brewpub. Pours dark copper. Aroma with lot os piney hops and some fruity esters. Flavor is expected from a DIPA and finishes fairly bitter. I would probably try this again should I return to Mt Horeb.

Ah, now this is more like it. I had low expectations for this one after drinking their frankly disastrous American IPA. This one has a nice malty aroma with alcohol and piney but crisp hop bitterness. Flavor is malty-sweet without being sugary, a touch of dried citrus, and bold, assertive piney hops that never quite become dish-soap overbearing. Nice chunky palate with lively carbonation. This is a top-notch traditional imperial IPA.
