Draft at Grumpy Troll. Thick purple brown. No head to speak of. Pronounced chocolate-bourbon aroma. Soft carbonation. Big bourbon flavors. Sort of in an English Barleywine vein. Mellows as you sip it, lots of caramel depth. Quite nice, an interesting beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draught at the Grumpy Troll brewpub in downtown, Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin. Pours a hazy dark brownish amber colored brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind a thin ring and spotty lacing. Aroma of bourbon, Belgian yeast, light banana, chocolate, caramel malt and a hint of toffee. Taste is medium to full bodied, fruity profile with bourbon and Belgian yeast flavors. Finish is semi-sweet, with aftertaste flavors of chocolate malt, alcohol and some yeast.
