Commercial Description:
The Red-Eyed Troll is a mild sort who likes his Red Ale the same way. Mildly sweet with hints of caramel, toffee and chocolate with a slight hop finish.

Beer poured a dark ruby red with a nice creamy head that left a fair amount of lacing. Smell was of roasted grain but not real strong of an aroma. Taste was of some dark fruit and I think I noticed toffee in there as well. Mouthfeel is medium, this beer is definately drinkable and worthy of a session if you are at the Grumpy Troll.

Sweet toffee caramel cream aroma. Too sweet, shot of Twizzlers, so caramelly, too sweet. Dee says: cloying.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear ruby color with thin white head that left a little lace. Smelled of light malty brown sugar, caramel, and a touch of vanilla. Slightly sweet with toffee, toasted bread, and a touch of sprucy hops.

The body was dark amber colored with a ligh khaki head on top. The nose was light grapefruit with some wood and chocolate hints. The taste was apples with som sugared grapefruit. There was also a little bit of light toffee in the finish. An ok amber.
