Pours a slisghtly cloudy, dull orange-golden colour with a creamy finger sized white head. Aroma is soft of bananna and apples. Creamy, wheaty and soft citrus character throughout.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a murky pale gold with a white head that starts at the edges and dissipates completely. Aroma has a good amount of wheat with light notes of banana and clove. Flavor begins with sweet wheat and continues to have notes of banana, sweet citrus and clove.

Enjoyed on tap as part of a sampler at Grumpy Troll in Mt. Horeb, WI. Appearance a cloudy light gold, thin white rim. Aroma of banana, bit of pineapple, straw wheat, really nice. Taste is definitely fruity, pear comes out a little bit more, ale yeast also adds the fruitiness. Pretty impressed with this one, like a standard Weiss but with more Belgian attributes.

Tap at the brewpub. Hazy dirty yellow pour. Clove and wheat nose. Thinner palate. Clove and banana on taste.

For an American brewer brewing a Hefeweizen it isn’t bad, but a bit watery.

Cloudy, deep yellow with a slight brown ting in color, head was low for the style. Aroma has a strong pear and banana combo with a mild wheat sourness to it. Aroma is a bit off putting to my nose. Flavor had a strong banana and pear pairing that just didn’t work in my opinion. The yeast tastes stressed. The feel of the beer was good with a modest body from the yeast in suspension and a good carbonation rate. Overall not the best beer here. Flavor and nose just didn’t do anything for me. The flavors and nose seem more reminiscent of stressed yeast.

On tap at the brewpub. Been loving hefes lately, so this was a must-have on my latest Grumpy Troll stop. Pours hazy light amber with a foamy white head. Tons of bubble gum on the nose, with light spics. Sweet and refreshing--teetering on too sweet, but it worked with the pizza I was having, so I’ll say it wasn’t too sweet. Taste is the same bubble gum and sweet wheat, with a light mineral finish overlaid with some pear and light clove. Never tasted pear in a hefe before, but again, it worked. Well-carbonted, and just tasty as hell.

On tap at brewpub, pours a light golden color with no head, aroma is of hay and grass with some banana, the flavor is overall thin and has a hint of cloves with the yeast and banana, not my bad just not great.

Tab at brewpub. Pours hazy, golden-orange. Aroma is (suprise) very wheaty with yeast and spiciness. Pretty good hefe.

Had this poured directly from Grumpy Troll brewery in Mt. Horeb, WI into a to go growler. Pours a nice cloudy orange with a nice white head. Smell of bananas right away. Flavor is citrus, bananas, wheat. Nicely done.

Pours a cloudy straw-yellow with very little head. Aroma is a nice intense burst of clove, bubblegum, and banana. Flavor is bubblegum and banana with a very light citrus tart and some bready grains. Grassy hops show up after a while too. Thinnish, flat palate. Pretty good stuff.
