Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Dutchdrebus. Clear rusty orange - golden color, small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, lightly grains, slightly sweetish, not much more. Hmm ok, not bad. Not a dunkelweizen like most beers from this style, and to me thatís good news cause this is actually drinkable.

Bottle @home shared by me. Hazy to murky weird amber colour with a small off-white head. Smells sweet, malts, brown sugar. Tastes sweet, malts, herbs, spices. Not my beer. Medium body, medium carbo.

aroma: mout, zoet, caramout, graan
smaken: redelijk zoet (bruike suiker), matig bitter, licht zuur, geroosterde mouten, metalig, port achtig, licht kruidig, graan, zoethout
medium body, glad, laag co2
licht zurig, waterige ondertonen, vreemde smaak combinaties, maar niet vreselijk slecht

A poor bock beer. Smell was hard to detect. Appearance was average and the mouthfeel was not that good. Very thin and watery.

Oooo, man. This beer represents everything I donít like about bad dunkelweizens. Their sugary, sticky brown sugar sweetness, weird citrus off flavors, and a distasteful mouthfeel.

Very weird beer. Did not like the taste of it at all. It was interesting to taste it, but thats it.

Butterscotch and bitter citrus, almost grapefruit. Head is nice on this very dark beer. Palate is nice, has a green salad aftertaste that lingers a little too long.

300ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
6 Initially a slightly sweet aroma, but soon becomes more stodgy and porridgy, and eventually becomes a little dusty and earthy.
4 Deep reddy brown, small tight beige head.
6+ Really grainy retronasals, some bark, some liquorice, some muddiness. Really quite earthy, thatís the dominant theme until the late finish. Some bitter chocolate in there too.
4 Smoothish palate, crisp carbonation stops it from being slick. Finish earthy, but with a huge noble hop bite that lasts for a long time and tingles the tongue the whole time.
13 So much not a Dunkelweizen. This is more like an imperial belgian bock IPA than a Dunkelweizen. I.e. itís pretty messed up, but made of all the right things.
