No ingredients on the label and not the silky finish as predicted. Candied sugar? Wouldn’t be strange for a bock. FiZzy, changing flavors From a Jumbo supermarket

Bottle from Douberd. Somewhat opaque dark ruby brown, small light brown lacing foam head. Quite sweet aroma, some hazelnut tones. Light bitter taste, sweet, again light nutty notes. (Velp 201412)

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg. Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, raisins and caramel. Strong bitter taste with some alcohol warmth. Not very full bodied for such a high ABV beer.

Stubby 330 ml bottle at home, poured into a snifter. ABV 9.8% The colour on the body is mahogany brown, on the foam is off-white. Head is thick and tall, with average retention. It leaves spots of lacing around the glass. Aroma of caramel, light roasted malts, spices. Taste of roasted malts, caramel, little bit of spices on the finish. The alcohol is not notable. Aftertaste has more of the roasted malts, only now stronger. Medium thin body, okay carbonation. Overall an okay bock, a bit dull though.

caramelbruin met schuimige witte, licht bruine kraag
aroma: caramel, rozijnen, anijs

Clear brown, light sweetness, light body, thin feel for a bock and no finish. No character, no body, let’s forget this one fast.

Hazy red - brown beer. Typical bock nose. Semi soft and semi dry palate. Strong aged tasting malt. A little chocolate and then some mild aniseed alcohol. Finishes dry with more chocolate and alcohol.

Bottle looks good, label a bit complex. Beer in the glass very dark, small head. Starts strong, roasty malty, quite alcoholic, fruity like raisins. Finish still strong, warming, still alcoholic, intense malty. Not bad at all!

bottle. Did I receive it from pivnizub or Bierkoning? To be honest, I can’t remember, it was in my box of Dutch goodies. Thank you very much to whoever sent it to me! Deep brown colour with a red glow, very large beige head. Sweet and malty nose with caramel. Very full-bodied, intensively malty, lots of caramel, dark honey and spices. Sweet, hardly bitter at all, shy herbal hoppy flavours are detectable hovering in the background. A lot of the carbonation seems to have gone into the enormous head, as there is hardly any carbonation in the beer. A delicious winter warmer.
