COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Gruut" is an ancient Flemish coin. In medieval Ghent, brewers used Gruuts to pay taxes on the richness of their brew. Gentse Stadsbrouwerij has revived this tradition with Gruut Wit Beer. Enjoy it’s natural cloudiness, golden color, and refreshing finish.

An excellent, most excellent Wit, the only shame is that it doesn’t come in bigger bottles.

11.2 oz bottle. Lemony wheat aroma. Very cloudy, light white-peach color. Very creamy and smooth mouthfeel, with a slight citrusy wheat taste that fades into a vanilla cream finish. Quite an excellent Wit, I’m glad to be the first to rate it here.

Bottle, purs a hazy light yellow color with a nice frothy head. Aroma is wheat, lemon, yeast and some light bread notes. Flavor is lemony and yeasty. Smooth and creamy. I enjoyed this in the heat of the summer here in S Fla.

On tap at Brasserie Molliere in South Norwalk. I had never seen this before so, looked interesting, and decided to check it out. They also have the amber on tap too. .5L proper glassware which was very sharp looking and proper coaster. A visually appealing wit, one of the better - cloudly with massive head atop. Tasted excellent, nice a crisp. High drinkability. Interesting wit, for the style its one of the best.

Bottle at the Williamsburg Gathering courtesy of LooseCannon. Hazy golden blonde pour. Small white head. Nose is very grainy with soft lemon, yeast and spice. Taste is soft wheat flavors, semi-sweet malts, dried fruit, light lemon and yeast. Rather tasty! Body is light and refreshing with a pleasant effervescence. Ends with more grains and wheat, soft lemon, yeast and spices. Bit better than most Belgian wits I’ve had.

Poured a murky golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of dough, coriander, citrus fruits, orange peel, and wheat. Taste was chewing, with wheat, earthy yeast, light spices, and citrus fruits. Chewy mouthfeel. Solid witbeer here, thanks for sharing Ed!

11.2 oz bottle. Cloudy lemon pour with a fluffy white head that descends somewhat rockily. Lightly sweet, mild nose of lemon, clove and a bit of dust. Body is the light side of medium, good carbonation. Mild citrus flavors, mostly lemon but tinged with a hint of grapefruit. A bit of clove. Dries up a bit in the finish, making a clean exit. I actually really liked this as a summer drinker. Well done.

Bottle, bought @ Beer Planet, Belgium.
Very pale, hazy yellow with a small, fizzy, white head. Aroma has lots of malts, light citric, a hint of coriander and a slight herbal hint. Highish carbonation, quite a lovely creamy mouthfeel with a hint of dryness. Flavour has good grainy wheat, sharp yet kinda soft citric edge, good grassy and herbal bitterness in the finish. Long, lingering flavour. Really a very, very good witbier.
