COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gruut brown beer has a deep brownish colour with a golden touch and develops a delicate and stable foam. The degustation is surprising but very pleasant. The beer has character and the presence of abundantly much taste.

Draft. Cloudy amber, small white head. Very spicy beer, sweet caramel, medicinal, jodium, plaster. Ok for a few sips, a whole glass is way too much.

33 cl. bottle split @ home – thx a lot to Tim (tderoeck) for this one – pours a bordeaux hued dark brown with a tanned head – smell is heavy on the spices with the large number of them creating a balanced spices goodness without rough edges, the spices are combined with typical Belgian malts and slight dark fruits – the dark fruits come out a touch stronger in the taste coupled with the balanced out, slightly sweet spices, touch of berries before the finish, Belgian malts with a slight hint of caramel – medium bodied and carbonated – a nice one and definitely a very interesting experiment

Poured with nearly two fingers of head which retreated to a honeycomb lacing pattern. Color was a cloudy copper, not as brown as expected. Lots of roast on the nose - both grain and nuts. Very malty, very roasted on the palate. Slight alcohol notes. Very little of the floral, fruity spice noces seen in the amber. Surprisingly sweet. Again, very little hint of alcohol, with sweetness dominating. As it warms, however, a fruitiness that wasn’t obvious before becomes apparent. The last sip tasted like an almost completely different, and better, beer. This one would be better served a bit warmer from the start!

Dark brown coloured with some very light carbonation and a very small off white head. Slightly fruity and malty light hinted aroma. Full light creamy palate. Finish is sweet light sticky malty with a short bitter almost wattery ending. Medium.

Bottle, 8%. Brown sugar and cream aroma. Cloudy dark brown colour. Small creamy light brown head. The flavour is creamy and papery. Has a little CO2 note in the finish. Fruity finish in a good way. Quite clean for a Belgian beer.

On tap at the brewpub. It poured a hazy orange-brown liquid with a dirty white head. Light smell of caramel and malt. Sweet malty taste with caramel and a deep and mild yeast flavour. It got the caramel malts, but besides that similar flavours as the others.

Bottle (33 cl) from bierzwerg.de. Hazy reddish brown, small beige head. Fruity and caramelly with some vague phenolic notes and floral hops. Medium bodied, low carbonation. Semi dry with low to medium bitterness.

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity wall adhesive light brown foam collar which was fine and even of structure. The beer also contained much carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a thick dark brown and a sweet taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppy bitter with a spicy touch . This beer smells to roasted malt.
