Pours brown, slightly hazy with small white head. Aroma is strong, some caramel, a bit decayed hops, citrus, sweetness. Taste is quite same, apple pie comes up, some bitter notes as well. Like bitter caramel pasty. Around average.

Helder goudgeel bier met medium witte schuimkraag. Gist, mouten en alcohol. Smaak begint vrij zoet, nasmaak is behoorlijk bitter. Levendig co2. Weinig complex.

33cl bottle at home (20 II 2016). Huge foamy white thick collar topping a golden, yellow brew with vivid carbonation. Slick looking and spirit-like flavoured brew with keen hints of Belgian yeast and malts. There are some herbs in there as well, making a good combo for a Belgian strong ale. The taste is pretty spot on. At the first sip, you get welcomed by the sweetness of the malts, evolving in a bitterish body. The flavours are soft, smooth, sweetly enjoyable. The 9 percentage ABV does not feel that strong - although there definitely is an alcoholic warming ending - I expected it to be stronger, sharper. The subtle carbonation even makes this strong beer to a mild quencher. It also is less complex than I had it in my mind (I drank this years ago, at the launch or so) adding to this strong ale... A kind of dullness. Oh well, it just is a good flavoured, modest bodied, sweetened Belgian ale with a better nose than palate.
