77ships (3313) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - NOV 26, 2012

(Botttled) Gigantic creamy head lives peacefully above glowing yellow streams of vibrant yeasty liquid. The nose speaks of flowery hops ,green apple and perfume. Quality ’Belgium’that I could happily drink till I cant remember my name.

330ml bottle (Stockmann, Tallinn)
7 Upon openning, there’s initially a sweet ripe berry fruitiness, but on pouring, much more citrus comes out. Some maltiness, but also quite a barky bitterness too. After a big swirl there was even some banana.
4 Opened with a nice pop and a waft of CO2. Pale gold, large spongy head settles to a small layer. Initially poured clear, added the yeast half way through.
7 Lovely slightly yeasty light grainy body. Hops are barky and bitter. Enough residual sugars to balance the bitterness. Feels serious, but not aggressive. Alcohol hides behind the bitter bite. Adding all the yeast fills out the breadiness of the grains.
4 Full palate, even fuller when the yeast is added, fizzy carbonation. Needed to swirl and swirl and swirl this to flatten it to a level where it could happily sit on my tongue for me to savour. Finish sweet light grains at first, blending seemlessly into a really potent bitter tingle that mellows to a lovely fresh whole green hop grassy resin. That makes up for the fizz easily.
15 Lovely tripel. Very much reminds me of the Steenberge Hopduvel Gentse Tripel. However, they’ve pushed this up to 9%, and still kept it a lovely drinkable beer. No flaws, this is right up there as a classic tripel.

sayravai (4667) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 23, 2011
(Bottled) Hazy yellow with a large, foamy-pillowy head. Clean, pale-malty nose with a touch of honey, fruitiness and yeast. Flavor is dryish and pale-malty, with alcohol warming, but not burning. Some pear-fruity and grassy tones, and moderate bitterness. Medium+ body, soft and foamy CO2, quite refreshing for the ABV. A simple, but very clean and balanced, dangerously drinkable Duvel clone. 3446

330ml Bottle - Golden with a foamy head. Banana, yeast and nectarine in the aroma. Sweet and yeasty taste with banana, passion fruit and a hint of spice detected. Noticeably sweet, but not excessively so. Easy to drink and I’d say that its drinkability belies its rather potent strength.
