(Draught) Pours a hazy amber body with a tall beige head. Aroma of raisins, peat, wood, caramel, and bread. Flavor of smoke/peat, grass, florals, caramel, raisins, oak, toffee, and plastic.

Sweet fruit, with hints of wood and smoke meet the nose. A cloudy copper pour with a mostly dissipating white head and no lacing. The palate is malt forward - velvety sweet, toasted malts, nutty, toffee, candy sugar, with hints of peat. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Creamy rich mouthfeel. Overall impression is that this is a winner. Rich, malty, smooth, and very satisfying. Would drink again.

On draft served in snifter. Light brown color thin white head. Mild scotchy malty aroma. Caramely toffee malt tones. I pick up hints of of the scotch and oak. Smooth clean mouthfeel. solid beer. Could be worse

Draft into small nonic at Alamo Drafthouse. Earthy fruity aroma. Cloudy almost brown orange with thick off white head. Smooth velvety mouthfeel with a very slight bitterness on the finish. Earthy, sweet dark fruit flavors. Very nice beer.

Mildly entertaining brew. Thin, dark color. Hopscotch ring to it. Light head. Smooth to bitter wash down. A rather dry flavor. Pretty simple. Basic. Drinkable but not mindblowing. It has a warm body but lacks some bottom. Definitely not in the same league as an Old Chubb...

Pint on tap. Pretty good beer, a little "creamy" of a palate for a scotch ale, a little funny. Itís complex, and thereís some spicy notes & stuff in there. Itís not my favorite scotch ale but itís not bad.

This is an awesome local brew. Classic Scotch ale with a distinct oak taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown in color with a cream colored head and lively aeration, this is a really soft, easy Scotch ale. A soft, malty, wood-like nose is really inviting. Served to me a little too cold, thereís no doubt this will be wonderful warmer, oozing with cozy Scotch ale delight, Iím sure. It has a great flavor, somewhat reminiscent of a wooden barrel or pub table and a trace of earthy Scotch plantlife. Itís full enough in the mouth to allow the beer to soak into your cheeks, while light enough to go down the gullet easily. The finish is tasty, with a definite, but easy to stomach English/Scottish yeast character. Nice... Easy and well flavored and definitely not overboard on the palate. A real pub drink for the everyday Joe, but respectable.
