Sick_boy282 (1081), San Diego, California, USA Feb 20, 2007 Pour a clear yellow golden hue with a light, fast dying, frothy head. Aromas of straw, a little funk and some more wheat with a hint of alcohol. Mouthfeel is light-bodied with flavor of grass, gas and a light bitterness.
tgncc (299), Bellmore, New York, USA Sep 5, 2008 I’ve had this several times, but never rated it. The aroma is interesting. Definitely the aromas of corn, alcohol and malts typical to the style, but also an interesting aroma of overripened bananas, and vanilla. The appearance is not a surprise, the clear, pale yellow with a white head. The taste is a lot like the aroma: malty, corn, with a peculiar fruit sweetness. The alcohol in this bad boy really makes itself known. Not unenjoyable. The palate is a mix of alcohol and mild hops. Definitely better than Colt 45, and a lot of others. And you can’t beat the 99 cent pricetag! BeerBunker (105), Burbank, Illinois, USA Aug 2, 2008 16oz can. Gold colored with instant aroma of corn, tin, and cheap alcohol. Taste is immediately overpowered by the alcohol and tin flavors. Tastes like watered down booze. After a few they become easier to drink, but are still horrid. drewbeerme (1840), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 11, 2008 24oz can. pours clear gold with white head. nose is sweet biscuity, alcohol, corny. flavor is sweet malty, corny, boozy finish. not the worst malt liquor though. DuffMan (1962), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jul 1, 2008 Ahhh yes, the campfire is blazing, the loons are echoing hauntingly across the lake, the sun is just below the horizon, making a cotton candy sherbet out of the sky. What better way to salute this natural beauty than to crack out the malt liquor! Colt 45 was up first, and was promptly spat out and dumped. This was up next. I actually thought this came under the guise of a "European Strong Lager", but no, it is indeed a fine malt likra. They are not ashamed to hang it out there, listing under their ingredients "corn groats" and "hop extract". A bold statement of lower standards! Yet unlike our old friend Colt 45, this actually held a handsome dense white head and left some delicate lace for the first 3rd of my plastic camping cup. Not a bad start. Sweet grainy/corny aroma. Sweet corny palate, but with a distinct pear fruit note. Compared to Colt 45 this comes across as world class, but world class among malt liquor is still pretty dreggy unfortunately. Drnk_McDermott (1565), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Jun 26, 2008 500 ml can from Sam’s, Downers Grove. Best before 20 Mar 09. A Baltic beer in a can. Will this come out better, being protected from the hazards faced by the green bottle in the picture? Well, first off, it has an ingredient list, and right after "barley malt" is "corn groats." Hmmm… groats! In a straight lager glass, it pours a somewhat gold color, sudsy white head. Smell is unmistakably malt with fusels from fermented corn. Taste is definitely corny, into my usual description: Karo syrup. The light kind. Very grainy, and gives the impression of having been spiked with cheap vodka. Something still compels me to drink it, maybe the need to get a snootful so I can go to sleep.
