DougShoemaker (2613), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 2, 2008 Sour dough/rye bread nose, dark orange almost tea-like colour, pours a large tan head. Taste is raisiny/malt, bready, lightly carbonated, sweet, syrupy. Fair. Thanks for the heads up Sammy. Appearance: Hazed light brown drink with short frisky top. 1+ Nose: Aroma of dark rye crust with hint of yeast and brown sugar, hint of salt and pepper. Flavor/Palate : Sweet molasses , caramel , brown sugar with int of dark rye in it . Far to sweet to be fully drinkable yet step in the right direction. sir_Pino (588), Zawiercie / Żywiec, Poland Jul 29, 2008 No 392

Bottle green, 500 ml, ext. of rye bread 2.2%
Appearance: Pours hazy to reddish brown with small to medium frothy but quickly decreasing to minimal, off - white head, carbonation is visually very low, almost non - existant.
Aroma: Sweet and quite intensive aroma of burned caramel with dry rye bread. Rather no complex, not very fresh and one dimentional, plain white sugar, very simple and dull aroma, too explicit and a bit too offensive.
Flavour: Artificial candy, totally flat, wattery texture, rye notes are hidden under the dominating and offensive load of whitw sugar making your palate sticky, dry and parched staring for a non - sweet drink, not calming your thirst but strenghtening it. Some citrusy accidity probably from citric accid, poor taste, a real lame as compared for example with Obolon Kvas Bogatyrskij.
Palate: Body is medium, texture is wattery, beer is totally flat, finish feel is extremely nasty and sticky, it is hard to drink half a bottle of it by yourself.
Sammy (3135), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 6, 2008 The usual kvas aroma, which is bready, but also a tad yeasty this one. Light brown ith a crowning white head. A bit above average mouthfeel. Sweet, but not as sweet as the other kvas products I have tried.Being of Lithuanian decent, I am proud to say this has been the best of several kvas products picked up at Yummy Market, the Russian supermarket in Toronto.
