UPDATED: FEB 17, 2015 Pours a murky orange on tap with lots of bubbly carbonation but no real head or lacing. Aroma of sour fruit and a dirty funk. Taste is a dry sour tart fruitiness with a lasting bite on the tongue. Pretty damn good, very easy to drink.

Nose of hay, grass, gueuze funk, dried barnyard grains. Lemon lime tartness, bitterness tinge from the yeast, layer of funk across the tongue makes mouths happy. Peppery yet soft carb up front; they nailed the mouthfeel here. Think I like this better than the bottles.

One day a baby bird went to buy a Ferrari and it tripped on the way to the bakery. He never did find his real father . Shame.

Served on-tap at Monk’s Cafe

A - Pours cloudy golden amber with a one finger tall white head leaving spotty trails of lace down the glass.

S - Smells of musty basement funk, light fruitiness, damp earth, apple skins and some light acidic sourness. This draught version has quite a bit more funk than the bottles I have come across.

T - Starts off with the musty funk and fruitiness from the nose but it is much more restrained in the taste while the acidic sourness levels are ramped up a bit. Hints of grass, green apples and some light sweetness round things out. Finish is pretty dry, lingering on the palate long after the finish.

M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Dry, crisp feel throughout.

O - I liked this version. It has all of the flavors I would expect it to have and it is easy to consume. A little too pricy to have all of the time but every now and then is fine with me.

Soft sulfur note, earthy. Slighty hazy medium amber color. Nice sour note, assertive but not overpowering or overwhelming. Clean and tart, a sulphur note, clean finish and aftertaste.

Tap (Tuulensuu, Tampere) (8:4:4+:4:15=3.8+)
Heavently gueuze aroma. Lovely crisp palate. Some apricot, not as much as yesterday’s Girardin White Label bottle. A super mellow gueuze, but not lacking sharpness either. A refreshing smack in the chops. Finish has a lovely wheatiness, and is a touch fruity. A great gueuze.

Draught at Delirium. Cloudy gold, fine low head. Dusty leather and grapefruit nose, horse blanket. Fresh. Tangy grapefruit and lemon flavor, dusty, blanket. Crisp and refreshing. Not super complex but lovely and easy drinking.

(Keg at Gastropub Tuulensuu, 20130810) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, wood, vomit and grapefruit. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sourness, wood, fruitiness, grapefruit and bitterness. Aftertaste was sour, woody and bitter. Weaker than the bottle version but still a good one.

Poured hazy dark straw with fizzy white head. Nose is lactic fruit, yeasty funk. Tastes tart, earthy, funky, yeasty, with a high level of tartnesswith more lactosy sweetness mixed with the heavy fruit and funk.
