2011-11-19. Hazy pastel yellow body, nice white head. 3+ Modest funky aroma, musty, very light barnyard like notes, lemon zest. 7+ Decent sourness throughout, zippy lemon and lemon seed, light funk. Not a lot of depth but an enjoyable sour. Average bodied palate. Draft at Blue Monk, Buffalo

Draft on tap at Local Option (Chicago, IL) awhile back. Quick stop in on an errands night. Pours a vibrant well hazed straw golden hue, well hazed and a bit murky with lively carbonation, a frothy head sits atop, dies down. Orange golden glow is lively. Aromas are fresh citrusy oranges, lemons, and vibrant pineapple. Some melon, bread, and dough. Some dry florals are mellow, soft cheese, yogurt. Some light brettiness, some wet oak. Young, gentle funk compliments a vibrant fruity element. Initial is lighter bodied preaching sour lemons and grapefruit, pineapples, and grass. Bread, with soft cheese and yogurt, a touch of a sharp cheesiness cuts in, faint metal, growing citrus and moderate sour fruit element. It’s sour, but not acidic, with a good fruity explosion. I dig this, a big fruity sour element, not moving into acidic instead throwing grapefruit, melons, lemons, and good growing sourness, fruit, with a touch of mango, more pineapple really asserts itself. Really nice, some prickly carbonation, jabs of acidity, growing sourness. Mmmmmm. Funk is light, soft, gentle, with just a touch of oak. Some soft cheese and yogurt, playing second fiddle to the fruity sourness for sure. Really nice, wins me over. I preferred the bottled version a touch more.

Hazy dark yellow with a fizzy white head. Sour fruit aroma and a taste of sour green apple pear and apricot without being over poweringly sour. Nice creamy bright palate.

Poured a light hazy orange. Smelled of citrus fruits, mostly orange and lemon. Tastes sour and dry, like putting a lemon tart in your mouth. Has a bit of earthiness on the finish.

Draft at Avenue Pub, New Orleans. Pours orange with a small white head. Nose of leather, oak, barnyard, light citrus bitterness. Flavor is lightly bitter, tart, citrus, some lemon acidity. Pretty tasty and drinkable. Good, but I liked the bottle better overall.

On tap at G. Groppi. Poured hazy, brighter golden with a fluffy white head.. looked good. The aroma picked up bright lemon and grassy notes paired with funky horseblanket.. quite a lot of citrus and oak evident.. great stuff! The flavor found tangy, sharp lemon, lemongrass, and oak throughout.. some earthy funk accented.. not exceedingly complex, but tasty. Moderate-plus sourness on the palate, a little on the metallic side.. refreshing and dry, but there were too many grainy residual sugars at the end.. very drinkable.

On draft at Redlight. Nice Gueuze. Soft lemon peel on the nose. Nice balance and maturity for a gueuze.
