330ml bottle. Nice caramel and sweet aromas. Pours dark, with creamy tan head, persistent, some lacing. Medium body, flat carbonation, oily texture. Taste is complex, caramel, malty, some liquorice, a bit spicy, with a warm palate. Aftertaste is long, sweet. Quite enjoyable, quaffable.

A scotch ale is difficult to make, and this is a good one. Not too sticky or cloying and the caramel adds to the flavor. The beer is sweet but not overly so. Not overwhelming in any direction. Bottle.

The pour is dark ruby red with a thin tan head that leaves a touch of lacing. The aroma is very malty with a hint of booze. The taste is exploding with flavor. While it’s primarily malty, there’s some caramel chewiness to it as well as a nice hop finish.

A rather lovely version of the Scotch Ale style from Guinea Pigs & Yria. Just the right levels of sweetness and malt. My initial reaction wasn’t great but the more I drank of it the more I liked it. Would highly recommend it to those who haven’t tried it.
