3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Pawola22 (3094) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 14, 2013
750ml swing-top bottle from Cervezorama 2.0 in Madrid. Pours a black body with an inch thick, dense, creamy and foamy, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is roasty and citrusy with lots of grapefruits and a nice dark chocolate malt backing. Pine resins, caramel, bread, and touches of licorice. Flavor is similar. Lots of resiny, piney grapefruits up front before a nice roastiness comes in. A good amount of dark chocolate, some caramel, bread, and hints of licorice balance the hops nicely. Finishes dry, bitter, roasty, and piney with lots of grapefruits before leaving a lengthy aftertaste. Medium-full body and a soft, moderately active carbonation. Overall, a really nice hoppy porter. Lots of grapefruit pine resins, but plenty of roasts and chocolate to balance. Great beer.

On Tap at BBF. Black pour with small tan head.lacing. Nose is boozy with some dark chocolate. Tastes better than it looks or smells. Smooth--particularly for a BIPA--with some roasted malts in the finish. Is not a bad beer.

Fantástica cerveza, superequilibrada, cuerpo rotundo al ojo y a la boca, hasta algo casi cremoso, no demasiado intensa de aroma, y con clara presencia de los lupulos en boca.
