Simple dark appearance with some head. Very good smell - dark fruit and a hint of alcohol. Surprisingly thick for 6.5%, not overall that thick but moreso than expected. Tastes of slightly bitter dark fruit, dark chocolate. Pretty good.

Pours black with very little head. Aromas are a bit weak. The flavors are much more pronounced and quite fruity; consisting of cherries, licorice, vanilla, figs and some dark chocolate. Medium bodied with a bitter finish. Good beer.

In short: A candy-like syrupy stout. Decent beer even if not my thing.
How: Bottle at Mosquito, Barcelona.
The look: Black body topped by a tan ring of foam.
In long: Nose is on the candy black liquorice and molasses. In mouth the beer has a slightly syrupy texture (unusual for a relatively low abv beer) and a medium carbonation. Taste is soft black liquorice candy, black jelly beans, some toffee, some molasses, chewing tobacco. A lot of sweet flavors but leafy hops dry out the finish nicely. This is a well-made beer but I’m just not very fond of that type of candy syrupy stout/porter, I prefer my session dark ales to be more roasted and drier. This one didn’t do it for me, and it really cranks my spine up that I don’t know if cranking my spine up means anything or if it is an expression I just made up.
