There is nothing like a good bitter... and in my opinion this is the epitome of bitter. the slight caramel is a nice top to both the aroma and the taste. This bitter is second only to the stout.

I honestly love this beer. I wish we had it in the states. It’s been a while since I have been to Ireland. But I hope it is easy to find when I go in May.

Drinking it as I’m typing! A good, easy to drink beer. A simple, fairly sweet taste with no nasty after-taste. A good 1st stab at ale by Guinness. Too easy to do 12 cans though.

WoW. Goes from a thick cloudy beige colour, to a deep nice golden colour with a thick creamy off white head. Fruity and a mild caramel malt aroma. Creamy texture. A bit light body. Fruity and caramel malt in the flavour.

Beautiful dark amber color; yoghurt-like head. Nice aroma, malty and a bit fruity. Smooth, a bit malty, caramel, correct bitterness. Easy to drink, quite simple.

I used to love drinking this in England. Very creamy brew, reddish in color and pours nice. Alas, I haven’t had this since coming to the States. To enhance the flavor, drink while eating chocolate (Cadburys recommended, Hersheys would kill it), I find the two compliment each other.

440ml can, as pictured. Widget-"driven" can pours a huge, monstrously creamy off-white head with good retention. Clear, nutty brown colour. Rather fain aroma of malt and caramel. No carbonation (left), very smooth, but essentially thin, mouth feel. Taste is very similar to Boddington’s and John Smith Extra Smooth, but a bit more characterfully maltish, with some caramel here, too. Mildly bitter finish and faint, but lingering malty after taste. Not bad at all. Sessionable, straightforward - just don’t expect much complexity here. Should not be drunk at too low a temperature.

The most bizarre combination of words "Guinness" and "Bitter". Widget "menthol" can. Not bad at all, though everytime I take it quality and taste differ. Deep amber colour, high (of course) creamy head. Fruity and hoppy notes. Dry metallic aftertaste.

UPDATED: FEB 21, 2004 clear red-amber colour with the legendary Guinness foam, fantastic lacing, flowery and toffey nose, very smooth, thin-bodied, low carbonation, sweet with a touch of finishing bitterness, slightly dry caramelish aftertaste - correct but inoffensive
