2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Black with tall foamy tan head. Grassy, corn aroma. Taste - roasted malt and grassy hops. Notes of coffee and toast. Medium body. Easy drinking, but overall rather boring. Just ok for me.

Black in color, clear with a thin white head. Good dark malt and lager aroma. I found this a very easy drinking nice dark beer. This is a great beer for when you want some flavor but not the heaviness. i liked the flavor.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle and served in Guinness pint glass: Pours a deep brown with reddish highlights topped by a fizzy head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of ashy, roasted, and bready malts, some dark fruit and a hint of soapy yeast. The taste is utterly ordinary, simple sugars, sweet malt, heavy wet grains and a touch of herbal Continental hops. The mouth feel is watery and fades into a distance far too quickly. Even for a session Schwarzbier this lacks any real German character. Honest it was what I expected... sadly. (The McSorleys Irish Black Lager is world class compared to this)

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The best way to describe this beer is mix 50% Guinness with 50% Michelob Ultra... It has a very good taste, then after you swallow , the taste disappears like Ultra does? So? Less filling / Tastes great while in mouth?

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
I was really looking forward to this one. Any expectations I held were immediately snuffed out with the first sip. It seems to be a pale lager with just enough roasted malt to color it - which is very little. What is "cold-brewed", anyway?? Very thin body, very abrupt finish. May be a passable "lawnmower beer", except for the price.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours dark brown with a large fluffy head. Smells like a dark malted lager. Tastes mildly malted and mildly hoppy. Light-bodied with a wet texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Guinness Black Lager finishes rather blandly.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Ignoring the directions to drink straight from the bottle, I poured it into aglass. Poured a thin short lived head, over a clear, brown (SRM 30) body....nose is hints of coffee, chocolate (my imagination may have run rampant),, strong cereal....taste is ligth cereal malt, finishing with a bit of bitterness.....mouth feel light and watery, carbonation adds a sharp tongue startling bonk. This is not a Schwartzbier. It is a Pale Lager dyed black. When the brewery tells you to drink it from the bottle, it means "it donít have no aroma". BJCP 5/3/9/4/5

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
12 ounce bottle
Aroma: minimal aroma- slight roasted malts, sulfur
Appearance: solid black, no head
Taste: some roasted malts, touch caramel sweetness
Palate: thin, highly carbonated
Overall: This is a very boring beer. Bland and no character to it at all.
