Bottle. Black color. Tan head. Weak nose of malt and coffee. Flavor of toasty malts and coffee, but very weak and watery. Not the best black lager. Not as good as I expect from Guinness.

Bottled. Poured dark brown with a tight cap of beige head. The aroma was really sweet with toasted black malts and vanilla. The flavor found artificially-sweetened toasty black malts, vanilla, and a pinch of cocoa.. aspartamey on the quick finish.. OK, but not by any means exciting. Lighter-bodied with prickly carbonation on the palate.. clean and calculated.. too sweet.

Pours a beautiful black with a nose of coppery chocolate and a light caramel. Flavor is an upfront chocolate chip with a quick backwash of copper. Watery mouthfeel. Bleh.

Bottle. Clear, dark brown with a small beige head. Light aroma of doughy malt and some cocoa. Flavor is mild and malty with some faint bitterness. Medium to light body with mild carbonation and a thin, watery mouth feel. Not too impressed with this, no major faults, just bland and watered down.

Bottle. Wow cold brewed! thanks for telling me bottle. I apreciate Diageo’s attempts to diversify to non traditional styles but the marketing on this was embarrasssing. It’s ok though.

Before I popped the top I read the label and these words food out, "Enjoy ice cold straight the bottle". I assume these words are for macro drinkers. Rather bland Schwarzbier more like a dark pale lager with a hint of roasted malts. What’s next from Guinness, Black Ultra Lager?

Bottle. Pours a thin black. The flavor is of roasted malt, kind of like a stout yet has a lager like quality to it. Not overly carbonated. Decent overall.

Pours dark reddish brown from 12 oz bottle. Not terrible. Smooth. Roasted barley is nice, but thin as hell and no aroma I can detect. Sessionable? Sure.

Pours dark brown to black with a creamy, tan and semi lasting head. Aroma is roasted malty and light breadish, mild cornish too. Cornish, toasted malty and dark breadish. Light metallic and bitter flavoured. Dark roasted and dry finish.

Pours a very dark brown, not totally black, with a nice tan head. Aroma is mildly roasty. And flavor is mildly roasty. Shockingly little going on here. Sent a search party out for flavor and couldn’t find hardly anything even after I boldly ignored the bottle instructions and allowed it to warm up - in a glass. At least nothing offensive here. Carbonation is actually sort of prickly and distracting, seemed sort of odd and out of place.
