A light malty aroma, some hints of roasted malt, a little bit sweet. The small fizzy head disappears fast, the body is black. It tasted a little bit malty, quite bitter. The body is light to medium strong and lively.

Black w/little brown @ bottom. 2-3 finger head fades. Leaves little laceing. Smells like Guinness & a BAD lager. Taste:Barley flakes, roastedness, sour(ish), chocolate, & lager taste. It was good but be even better if it had a stout taste over the lager taste but the bottle I had, had a date that passed when I had it but didn’t say if it was best b4 or not. The lager part I found the worst part.

Black lager definitely pours about as dark as any beer could. It mimics a Dunkel or Doppelbock in color thanks to roasted barley that’s been added. While this beer pours with a very large head and fine lacing, there is very weak aroma to it (exhibits small amounts of malt scents). Perhaps not as strong as similar beers in Europe, it does have a fair amount of carbonation, though its taste seemed nondescript. The "Black" has a body that falls just short of being medium but drinks easy. It’s unlikely I’d buy this one again if other choices are available but was glad to try this beer that might not be marketed in the US forever. It’s short on taste, but if you don’t like beer it might be the right one for you.

Pours an opaque black with a thin unimpressive off white head. Aroma is coffee and cocoa. Taste is sweet roasted malt, with a little coffee and chocolate. Some bitterness after the swallow. OK.

(Rating #5318)

This was lighter than water, and even tasted like water with the tiniest tinge of charcoal and London yeast. Nothing special.

A: Dark Opaque Hue, Passes Very Mild Light, Brown Head Ring, Some Lacing S: Corn, Burnt Wheat T: Corn, Mild Dark Malts M: Average Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Mildly Mildly Sticky Overall, it tastes like your typical cheap lager with corn but a mild dark malt flavor, not the worst beer I have ever had.
