Dark brown with brown lowlights and a creamy beige topper. Aroma is pretty bland with roasted malt and weak chocolate. Taste is non descript with mild roasted malts, a hint of chocolate and not much else. Seven years ago I might have liked this but today itís just another gateway beer click on here.

Not a very impressive offering from the good folks at Guinness. The beer pours a very dark color, just about black. The head is tan with no lacing at all. The aroma features some roasted barley with a very light hint of vanilla and cream. The body is rather light and slightly bland, with the roasted barley coming on the strongest. The carbonation is fairly high, almost cola-like, and the finish is a bit on the sweet side.

Poured ann opauque black with a closer to white head. Nose of burnt malt and flavours of said malt, but lacking any depth.

Pours black with brown around edges. Armoa is light malts. Taste of malts and hard chocolate candy. Maybe some root beer flavor. The backend is alittle unpleasant.

(Bottle from Candia Road Convenience) Pours very dark brown, almost black but with some brown highlights. Aroma is weakly dry chocolate and roast with something a bit off. Mouthfeel medium-full, a bit dryish and prickly. Flavor of weak chocolate or cocoa with perhaps nut. Kind of an off/sour undertone. Mass-produced, weak feel. Can pass on this one.

Pours black with virtually no head. Nose is light and generic weak lager with a pinch of roastiness and skunk. Flavor has a bit of old hops, weak coffee, and herb but is generally limp. Cereal-like finish, but also very weak here as well. This is a boring, cheap black lager. Stick to Irish Drys, Guinness.

I was hoping that this beer was going to be the 250 anniversary stout just rebottled and with a different label. I really enjoyed that beer and it got some really good ratings. So i had my hopes up. Sadly, this beer is not that. That being said, itís still a pretty tasty brew and a nice change of pace from a regular Guinness. Worth a try, lighter than a guinness and with more carbonation. It is definitely not a stout but a lager for sure. Not bad, Iíd drink it again.

Guinness Black Lager is a black beer with a waxy, turbanado colored foam that has pretty nice lacing and retention. The aroma is very muted and of wet cardboard. Thereís a touch of roast and maybe spice in the nose. Itís medium-light bodied; fluffy and crisp. Itís lightly flavored from a dark malt twang at the first taste to a lightly bitter finish of coffee and medicine. This stuff just goes down like water. Itís a very simple, refreshing black lager.

Was really expecting more from the guys at Guinness. This beer pours a deep black with nice foam, but the flavor is totally lacking. A little bit of roasted taste and some butterscotch, but otherwise quite thin. I was expecting Guinness quality and got all show and no substance. Send it back to Malaysia for further testing.

Ummm...was expecting this to be a good brew....not so much. Pours a nice black color with a small head. Nothing noteworthy other than being just an ordinary dark beer. Would I ever order this again...probably not.
