3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle, poured into a lager glass, black in color with frothy head with a little lacing on the glass. Aroma is decent beer with a hint of citrusy smell. Taste is clean, crisp, palate is thin and watery, good lager flavor. Lively CO2, good Black Lager.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle served in a Guinness pint. Black in color with a medium-large khaki head. Short retention, decent lace. Aroma is tinny, lightly roasted malt. Flavor the same. Light-medium, body, thin creamy texture, and a soft, short finish. Easy drinking, not very interesting.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
WOW! This stuff did not taste like I expected it to, it was wayyyy better than I had hoped. Goes down smooth just like any other lager, but has that oaky almost German quality to it.

1.9 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Green bean aroma. Clear mahogany, medium tan head, nice lacing. Thin body. Dry cola and cardboard flavor. I enjoy Guinness’ stouts, so I had higher hopes for this. Such a disappointment,

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle at the International Great Beer Expo in Uniondale. Pours black with a tan head. There is a trace of roasted malt in the nose and that is about it. The flavor is weak roasted malt and stale cardboard. Light-medium bodied. Thankfully, I was able to sample this at the festival so I won’t have to waste my money buying it.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle purchased @ Smiley’s Discount beverage, Dover, NH for $1.59. Deep brown pour into a pint. Soapy head, light lace. Nose of roasted barley. A slight smokiness with a roasted malt backbone. A tad thin in the body. Much better than I thought to was going to be.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at World of Beer (Carrollwood). Black pour with a tan head. Not a whole lot going on in the aroma other than some roasted malt notes. Flavor is decent but again not very exciting. Fairly watery mouthfeel. Easy drinking but I prefer more character in a Schwarzbier.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle at Chad and Monica’s house. Overall, better than average. Nice roasted malt and a hint of smokiness. Very easy drinking and a nice change of pace.
