3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From a bottle poured a black color with a fair amount of head. Toasted malty flavor with a lingering finish.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Poured almost black with white head. Tasted like bud light with guinness poured in, which makes it better than bud light, but still not great.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Poured a dark clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting and produced good lacing. Moderate toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium roasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of short duration. Soft drinkable brew.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
BOttle pour. Inky dark brew that looks a like like a stout, cept for the head being fizzy and not creamy. Light lagerish aroma of grains, adjunt, a little roasted malt. Taste is very lagerish - like a macro lager with minimal roasted malt taste. Thin palate.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
25 Sept 2011, bottle. black, doesn’t have to settle like a normal guinness. smells like a handful of toasted malt and burnt coffee. thin and fizzy. there is a black lager taste but it gets a bit tinny in the finish. i’ve had much better black lagers.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Whole Foods, P st, DC sixer ($9): Pours black with a quickly dissipating, kind of funny colored head. Light chocolatey aroma, with some roasted malts. A hint of that typical grainy lager aroma in there as well. Body is actually a little watery kind of like seltzer. But, the tastes that are there are good. Certainly no off taste in there, but not enough taste to really justify this beer’s existence. In any case, I am glad Guinness tries out new things.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
There is hope yet for the big boys. Just saw this available in the local market and decided to do a comparison with regular draught. More body, a little more sweetness, and maybe even more bitterness, This is just a better-balanced and more enjoyable beer overall. Smooth roast and grain in the aroma. Just a touch of coffee in the flavor, and plenty of bubbles, which is probably the biggest difference between this and regular draught, The lack of nitro makes a completely different beer. I guess this miht be more of a lighter version of extra stout. Despite my disdain for it, Guinness is still the more fascinating macro to me. I’d like to see this get around.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
The aroma is nice but weak with brown sugar, burnt malt, chocolate, honey, and flowers. The appearance is darn brown with a tan head. The taste is a little like the aroma but overshadowed by soapy bitterness and peppers. The palate is smooth. Overall not one of those beers that makes you want another.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
pours very dark brown, almost black with small but sustaining off white, beige head. Aroma of light smoke. Flavor is lightly charred roast, with a touch of meat smoke, cocoa. Medium bodied. Nice but forgettable.
