Old rate. This is not the worst thing in the wold, tates like a roastier lager version of guinness. Still prefer the original with the ball can.

Several bottle samples at the LCBO on WIlson as I explained what the term and style was to the friendly rep they sent out. Its black without much head, or unfortunately much taste either. Itís not up to the style. Better than the stout they serve here.A bit thin and overcarbonated.

Very dark brown. Cream colored head. Aroma is pure (over)roasted malt. Flavor is extremely roasty and has maybe a hint of burned coffee. Meh.

Bottle... Pours nearly black with a small, flimsy, mushroom-colored head. Good creamy retention. The aroma offers light notes of dark chocolate and espresso, but is mainly just bland as I had to really dig my nose deep into the glass to pull out anything at all. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor is mildly roasty and perfectly balanced, but for the most part, itís just bland, mundane and fairly lifeless. Finishes crisp and a tad roasty, but mostly just clean.

Bottle @ home. Deep brown appearance with a light brown head. Roasty dark malty, grassy, hay aroma. Deeply roasty malty, light espresso, hay, straw flavor. Light bodied. Pretty gross. Fuck I made some bad choices on my mixer sixer tonight.

11.2 oz bottle. L3028GD001. (Midtown Wine) Nashville, TN.
Black colour with a red hue and a small tan head. Sweet malt, toasted bread and brown sugar in the aroma. Sweet malt and some darker tones in the flavour. Not very good.

DocLock (9701) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 21, 2011
Bottle from Caponeís. Pours thick jet black with tan head. Nose is like a hoppier regular Guinness. Tastes malty, with resiny hops, less malt character than regular Guinness, and a lackluster body. A disappointment that just might change the joke where Arthur Guinness, Pete Coors, and Augie Busch sit around discussing beers.
