2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Several bottle samples at the LCBO on WIlson as I explained what the term and style was to the friendly rep they sent out. Its black without much head, or unfortunately much taste either. Itís not up to the style. Better than the stout they serve here.A bit thin and overcarbonated.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Consumed at BTBF. Pours with a deep brown hued body with a small tan head that fades. Aromas are slightly sour, stale malt character, mild roasted barley character, a touch of hops, clean yeast wise. Flavors show a lot of stale malt, light sulfur, bready and sharp roast. Mild bubbles, pretty dry, thin. Pretty mild and stale tasting.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from Caponeís. Pours thick jet black with tan head. Nose is like a hoppier regular Guinness. Tastes malty, with resiny hops, less malt character than regular Guinness, and a lackluster body. A disappointment that just might change the joke where Arthur Guinness, Pete Coors, and Augie Busch sit around discussing beers.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
11.2 fl oz bottle at Burger & Beer Joint, Miami Beach, FL. Sampled on January 22, 2012.
Dark reddish brown to black color, huge lasting tan head. Sweet, cream, a bit roasted scent. Roasted, malty, cream taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium low bitterness.
Iíd drink it again given the chance.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
2012-11-16. Very dark brown-black body, small tan head. 3+ Mild dusty aroma, muted roast notes. 6+ Flavour is very mild, very light roast character lingers in the finish. Average to light bodied palate. Inoffensive, it is mostly just bland and not very exciting. I could drink more of it but would never buy it. Bottle shared by Radek

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This brew pours black with some chestnut color around the edges. Medium thin tan head that diminishes steadily to a film. Somewhat roasty aroma with notes of malt and chocolate. Light to medium body with a roasted malt character and flavors of mild hops and chocolate. The finish is short roasty malt. Seems like this beer is being marketed as a "less heavy Guinness" which is amusing. Simply average overall.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled. Poured dark brown with a tight cap of beige head. The aroma was really sweet with toasted black malts and vanilla. The flavor found artificially-sweetened toasty black malts, vanilla, and a pinch of cocoa.. aspartamey on the quick finish.. OK, but not by any means exciting. Lighter-bodied with prickly carbonation on the palate.. clean and calculated.. too sweet.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from Lihue 7-11 drank at the house in Kauaíi, 27/08/12. Deep ruby with copper trim and an unconvincing cappuccino head. Admittedly slightly schwarzy aroma; rusted ashtray, pureed grilled veg gone through the coffee filter, incinerated paper, carob. Fag ash- sprinkled shredded wheat, rusted flavour with suggestions of Happy Shopper coffee granule, Bisto granule, more rusted iron, cheap dark chocolate...all heavily watered and stirred with a Twiglet, then a rusty nail. Thin and nasty...but it grows on you.
