Several bottle samples at the LCBO on WIlson as I explained what the term and style was to the friendly rep they sent out. Its black without much head, or unfortunately much taste either. It’s not up to the style. Better than the stout they serve here.A bit thin and overcarbonated.

12 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear deep dark red with a medium sized creamy head. Good head retention. Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. The taste is roasted malts, raisin, chocolate. Thin-medium bodied. Decent.

Consumed at BTBF. Pours with a deep brown hued body with a small tan head that fades. Aromas are slightly sour, stale malt character, mild roasted barley character, a touch of hops, clean yeast wise. Flavors show a lot of stale malt, light sulfur, bready and sharp roast. Mild bubbles, pretty dry, thin. Pretty mild and stale tasting.

DocLock (7502) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 21, 2011
Bottle from Capone’s. Pours thick jet black with tan head. Nose is like a hoppier regular Guinness. Tastes malty, with resiny hops, less malt character than regular Guinness, and a lackluster body. A disappointment that just might change the joke where Arthur Guinness, Pete Coors, and Augie Busch sit around discussing beers.

11.2 fl oz bottle at Burger & Beer Joint, Miami Beach, FL. Sampled on January 22, 2012.
Dark reddish brown to black color, huge lasting tan head. Sweet, cream, a bit roasted scent. Roasted, malty, cream taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium low bitterness.
I’d drink it again given the chance.

2012-11-16. Very dark brown-black body, small tan head. 3+ Mild dusty aroma, muted roast notes. 6+ Flavour is very mild, very light roast character lingers in the finish. Average to light bodied palate. Inoffensive, it is mostly just bland and not very exciting. I could drink more of it but would never buy it. Bottle shared by Radek

This brew pours black with some chestnut color around the edges. Medium thin tan head that diminishes steadily to a film. Somewhat roasty aroma with notes of malt and chocolate. Light to medium body with a roasted malt character and flavors of mild hops and chocolate. The finish is short roasty malt. Seems like this beer is being marketed as a "less heavy Guinness" which is amusing. Simply average overall.

Bottle. Pours black with off white head. Nose and taste of roasted black and chocolate malts, light pine and some barley and cereal grains. Medium body.

Bottled. Poured dark brown with a tight cap of beige head. The aroma was really sweet with toasted black malts and vanilla. The flavor found artificially-sweetened toasty black malts, vanilla, and a pinch of cocoa.. aspartamey on the quick finish.. OK, but not by any means exciting. Lighter-bodied with prickly carbonation on the palate.. clean and calculated.. too sweet.

Bottle. Woody chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown color with giant tan head.. Lightly sweet chocolate malt flavor. Very light body. No bad flavors but extremely light.
