Bottle. Dark brown, almost black with a small sized head. Blah ... muted roast and chocolate. Maybe I did it wrong - I see in the description to enjoy ice cold straight from the bottle ....

Several bottle samples at the LCBO on WIlson as I explained what the term and style was to the friendly rep they sent out. Its black without much head, or unfortunately much taste either. Itís not up to the style. Better than the stout they serve here.A bit thin and overcarbonated.

This brew pours black with some chestnut color around the edges. Medium thin tan head that diminishes steadily to a film. Somewhat roasty aroma with notes of malt and chocolate. Light to medium body with a roasted malt character and flavors of mild hops and chocolate. The finish is short roasty malt. Seems like this beer is being marketed as a "less heavy Guinness" which is amusing. Simply average overall.

Old rate. This is not the worst thing in the wold, tates like a roastier lager version of guinness. Still prefer the original with the ball can.

Bottle. Woody chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown color with giant tan head.. Lightly sweet chocolate malt flavor. Very light body. No bad flavors but extremely light.

Deep brown- black pour. The nose is lightly sour and kind of dirty. A little bit of honey flavour and some dirty sort of flavour. Meh - pretty awful. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

11.2 fl oz bottle at Burger & Beer Joint, Miami Beach, FL. Sampled on January 22, 2012.
Dark reddish brown to black color, huge lasting tan head. Sweet, cream, a bit roasted scent. Roasted, malty, cream taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium low bitterness.
Iíd drink it again given the chance.

Pours dark black with nice lacing tan head, aroma brings notes of some weird vegetal, touch of roast, hints of grain maybe? Very fizzy and thin on the palate, taste is thin as well with hints of slight roast, some odd metallic notes, hints of grain, very slight hint of roast, leaving an unpleasant metallic and sweet combination at the end.

11.2 oz bottle. L3028GD001. (Midtown Wine) Nashville, TN.
Black colour with a red hue and a small tan head. Sweet malt, toasted bread and brown sugar in the aroma. Sweet malt and some darker tones in the flavour. Not very good.

11.2 fl oz bottle. Nearly pitch black color (some clear brown around the edges of the glass), minimal off-white head. Toasty malty aroma, more wheaty. light bitter coffee taste. Hint of hops. light bitter taste. Carbonation a bit too pronounced. A decent dark lager.
