Bottle. Pours a deep brown, nearly black with slightly off white head. Aroma is a slightly fruity roast caramel. The flavor is very light roast caramel. Not bad for a brew that is trying to appeal to the "masses", but not very good, regular guiness stout much better!!

440ml/15floz can from Irish Discovery pack into a Guinness glass; served cold. Aroma: Pretty neutral. There’s some mild malt, but nothing that really stands out. Appearance: Barely translucent ruby and brown body with a quickly dissipating, but foamy at first, light brown head. Taste: Pretty malty, yeah. Decent, but once again, no notable flavors to call out. No chocolate or anything like that. Just roasty barley, and that’s ok. Palate: Medium body. Carbonation is kind of prickly, but not excessively. Short finish. Overall: A pretty decent one. I wish there were something in the taste or aroma that would remind me of Guinness draught or stout, because I don’t know if I could have picked this out as a Guinness brew in a blind taste. Decent enough though! Simple and good.

11.2oz in Drake’s pint glass. Near black with small fizzy ecru head. Very appetizing cornflakes and distant coffee aroma. Clean and tasty flavors of molasses, Munich malt, and sweet corn. Pleasant lager finish, generous carbonation. Excellent sessionable, interesting beer.

Smells like a lager brewed cold with some roasted barley notes. Head dissipated quickly. Color is pitch black. Mouthfeel is slightly more than light. Taste is of roasted barley, corn/rice notes of your typical lager. Carbonation taste kills this one pretty quickly. Had slightly higher hopes on this one since the labeling is so crafty.

12 oz. bottle purchased at QFC in Mukilteo/Harbour Pointe, WA. Pours a VERY dark brown with a minimal tan colored head. Aroma: Roasted malt. Flavor: Same as the aroma, with a hint of coffee. Light bodied and delicious.

Bought at Krogers. Black. Med. creamy, beige head. Aroma: Roasted chocolate malts. Flavor: Roasted coffee, like a light Stout. Roasty, clean finish.

It’s nothing special. Pours a dark brown, taste is malty yet bland. Nothing to truly distinguish this beer from the rest. I’d take a Guinness stout over this any day.

Attractive red-brown pour with a thin off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, a little dark fruit, and vanilla. Very strong bitter, a little sourness. Rather biting, the only flavor that comes through is a little burnt coffee.

There’s basically no discernible reason to crank the lid off of one of these beers, but if you do, expect a thin, effervescent mouthfeel and some pulsating coffee undertones. The flavor isn’t going to tear your taste buds apart, but it’s a pleasant diversion and a decent lager.
