A - Pours an opaque black body with 1.5 fingers of tan head that sinks into a cap of micro bubbles. S - Earthy yeast, wet cardboard, copper, sweet toasted grain. T - Dark malts, grassy hops, light molasses, spicy bite, hints of fruit, raisins, old coffee, finishes dry some spice. M - Light to medium body, moderate carbonation. Better than I expected. Easily sessionable. Alot of people will probably hate on this because its from Guinness but itís actually not too bad for style. Serving type: bottle 10-18-2011

Rated on 11-02-2011 (Bottle) When poured, this beer has a medium sized fizzy tan head with a short retention, dark brown body, fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and virtually no lacing. The aroma is roasted malt. The flavor is roasted malt and lightly sweet. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and this beer is light bodied. This beer lacks character in the flavor as there is not much to it.

Tall pint can from a "Irish Beer" 8 pack sold at Harris Teeter in Huntersville, NC. Pours a nice black color with a light aroma of mostly malt, coffee and chocolate. Taste is mellow and has an easy finish. Not bad but it could be better.

Pours dark with a mild beige head, the barley comes through in the taste, giving it a similar flavor to that of burnt caramel.

bottle. Hazy blackish with small head. Ashy charred malt. Bland and watery. I donít like the style much, but this is underwhelming to say the least.

Definitely Tastes like a Guinness. Roasted aroma with same taste and a little bitterness at the end. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Drinking this a day late and it's the wrong damn one. Got it free. I feel like I actually got less out of the deal.

Has the requisite roasty malt nose, and drinks smoothly with a nip of hops, but lacks some of the crispness common to this íblack pilsí style. An easy session beer that would be at home next to virtually any pub grub, Guinness Black Lager is an interesting foray into this often duplicated but rarely perfected style.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks beerandbeyond. Dark brown with white wave. Sweet, a little caramel aroma, sweetish taste and very slightly roasty. Light body, a little more fizzy than the Guinness stout.

Drunk from 33cl bottle in kilcullen, Ireland. Pleasant enough but no defining features. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
