I look at the scores I give this, and the total feels harsh, even though every number seems about right. This isnít a great beer. This isnít even a pretty good beer. But itís easy drinkiní, simple, and might serve well as a crossover for the BMC crowd. But for $8 a sixer, you can really get much better than this. Pours a very dark brown with a quickly fading head. Nose isnít much to write home about...fairly thin. Flavor is not bad...if it was fuller and would last a fair big longer on the palate, this could be a decent schwarzbier. But, as it is, a quick burst of flavor (again, decent flavor) fades very quickly into an aftertaste that isnít all that much better than your typical light beer. Again, a lower end crossover.

Bottle Oct 2014. Absolutely foul. Tried this a few years ago, and hated it. Nothing's changed. The burnt taste actually turns my stomach. Only beer on the planet that I'd rather pour out than drink. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

11.2 oz. bottle from Cash Wise in Williston. Appearance: half finger light khaki head, black color, opaque, good lacing. Aroma: earthy molasses, light licorice, light roasted grain. Palate: full body, soft carbonation, light bitter and dry finish, oily texture. Taste: sweet malt into a light roasted grain astringency, aftertaste is light licorice that lasts. Overall, surprisingly good, nothing amazing or standout about this beer, but smooth tastes and palate.

Plain dark lager with a slight roasted malt flavor. Very clean finish. A simple lager.

Dark, semi-opaque body with ample bubbly tan head. Aromas of grass, corn, roasted barley (in that order). Flavour is weak compared to its stoutly homologue but still bears some likeness. Weak, dilute MF. Iíd rename this "Budweiser, Dark Roast".

"light but pleasant aroma and flavor of roasted malts, caramel and/or mollasses. refreshing dark beer...nicely done. i was not a fan of Guinness til the foreighn extra got there (that beer is awesome) but this one is quite pleasant even though light. nothing thatíll blow you away, but quite nice all-around."

Pours dark brown, almost black, with very little foam. The aroma is a little bit of charcoal, a little bit of coffee, and average lager notes. The flavor is slightly sweet and rich, but the after-taste is godawful. Medicinal. A little astringent. I wonít have this again.

From a bottle. Black pour with a very thin head. Sweet malt aroma. Sweet on the palette and all around just ok. Not a fan just kind of blah.

Black beer? More like, blah beer. The appearance is nice, but thatís it. You really have to reach for the Nutty, malty, roasty nose. Taste is of weak malt flavourings, bread crumbs and old coffee. Just boring. Guinness, donít quit your day job.

Muito creme. Castanho e denso. LŪquido negro e opaco. Aroma adocicado e alcoůlico. Intensidade mťdia para baixa. Um pouco de canela. Muito bom. Pouco densa. TŪpico sabor de cafť torrado. Um pouco picante. Muito mais suave que a Guinness original. Bastante amarga.
