wheresthepath (523), Buckinghamshire, England Aug 31, 2008 [Nitrokeg at Nut & Squirrel, Milton Keynes] For many, this is the definitive stout when served correctly. And alone out of the ubiquitous macro keg beers it lives up to its reputation and advertising, and is a decent, nay welcome fallback if you’re forced into a pub with nothing interesting available. You all know what it’s like, but for the record: Black body, thick and creamy lasting head. Aroma of roasted malt, taste of coffee and cream with a little smoke and a dryness on the tongue. Very easy to drink, and very comforting. Just let down a little by a slightly watery body and a hint of metals in the aftertaste. This was probably the first time I’d had it in a couple of years, but it lived up to my fond memories! BlackAndTan (2), Glen Carbon, Illinois, USA does not count Aug 30, 2008 Updated: Feb 1, 2009Absolutely the best beer that I can say that I have had so far. There is nothing like sitting in McGurk’s in St Louis and taking down some Guinness or some Black n Tan’s. Go Irish, Go Guiness. Blockade (4), , Texas, USA does not count Aug 30, 2008 Classic. The first beer that enlightened me to go beyond the mass commercial lagers. The smooth, creamy head. Waiting for the N and CO2 to settle. Relatively low calories. Can’t beat it. Kaizen666 (16), , New York, USA Aug 29, 2008 Old Badass Reliable. Dark body, head that stays with you. The only failsafe for real drinkers when they can’t decide what to get. Whether you’re out and about on a Friday night or at the pub watching footie early in the morning, you can’t miss with this one. For Strength. MrAleman (111), Wiltshire, England Aug 28, 2008 Updated: Sep 6, 2008Can’t beat a good guinness. The creamyness on top is always a delight, then the bitter full flavour of the pint itself is excellent. Apparent health benefits add to the point of Guinness bretupdegraff (172), Fishers, Indiana, USA Aug 27, 2008 enjoyed on tap at the Naked Fish in Boston area. Unbelievable tight head that lasted all night. Smooth flavor - nothing overly strong - smokey taste, milky pallette. Straling (185), Heerlen, Netherlands Aug 25, 2008 Tap.
Had a pint of this, smell was like coffee.
Taste was very smokey, mixed with a nice hint of coffee.
