On tap at the "Irish house" pub in Haifa, Israel, though I’ve been drank this great beer so much times, in so many places, and the best place was in the seventh floor at the "Guinness Storehouse" in the "Gravity Bar", which located at St. James’s Gate Brewery in Dublin. Pours black with a thick off-white head, which remains till the end and leave behind very nice lacing. The aroma is roasted malts, together with sourness and metallic notes. The flavour is bitter and there are notes of roasted coffee. In summary, this is just my cup of tea.

A- Poured the distinct Black on bottom cream in the middle with the ripples forming the very thick creamy head that lingers for a very long time. Very Opaque and Black in colour. S- Very Heavy roasted malts. Hints of caramel and Vanilla. The smell is very reminiscent of dark roasted coffee. Also a hint of yeast scent. T- Very heavy in the mouth. First smell that comes through is "roasted". The malts are very dark with lots of complexity. Coffee, Espresso, and Cappuccino all come to mind. The flavour of the Vanilla and Caramel are also here, but in very small quantities D- One of the best Macro brewed beers in my opinion. The flavour is very complex and goes down very smoothly.

UPDATED: OCT 22, 2010 You know, this thing looks amazing in a glass, especially just after pouring (from a draught can). The taste is pretty decent with roasty malt and a little bitter. But the palate is so unappealing it makes it difficult to drink. It feels very, very thin, and that so conflicts with the appearance and a little bit with the taste that, to me, it’s just "off". Not for me, though I can appreciate that others enjoy it.

500 ml can. Rated @ 21.3.2009.
Pours beautiful black colour with a very creamy, slightly off-white head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts and some smoke. Roasted malt, mild coffee, caramel. Medium bodied with a watery mouthfeel. Very easy to drink and enjoyable.

Can. Light nose of toast. Pours a very dark brown with a smooth, creamy head. Roast and savory flavors on the palate, but the nitrogen-aided carbonation is a little light for my tastes, and there’s a certain hollowness in the palate. Not much finish. It’s all right, but it’s not great.

Aroma of coffee and sweet malt. Appearance is dark brown almost black with a light tan head that settles after the pour. A truly beautiful beer. Taste is dry roasted malt and coffee with notes of toffee. Not sweet, but dry. Palate is medium with the perfect viscosity. Overall this is everything you hope it to be. Not as good as the draught served in Dublin, but pretty good besides

Black with thick white head made of small bubbles. Great looking stuff. Taste is malty and there’s a hint of smoke, but not as much there’s sweetness. Guinness is easy to drink. Not bad.
