Haven’t yet had this in Dublin at the brewery which is where it is supposed to be best. Also several Irish living in the US that I’ve talked to say Guinness here doesn’t taste right here and is too fizzy. Anyway. . .It is a good beer but highly over rated. Nice roasted flavor and that touch of sour. Serving: Tap and can.

440ml can. Pours black with a large creamy tan head. This, along with every other nitro stout, is pretty much what a perfect pint looks like. Aroma is cocoa, molasses, a little smoke. Taste is big on molasses, caramel, faint cocoa, big metallic hop finish. A very thin bodied stout. Easy drinking stuff.

On tap at the Weston Golf and Country Club, served in a tulip pint glass. Pours black with a dense tan head. The head remains to the end and coats the glass with fine lace. The aroma is roasted malts, along with chocolate, herbal hops and some earth. The flavour is pretty well balanced between slightly sweet and slightly bitter. It becomes moderately bitter towards the end. The finish is fairly short in duration and pretty clean, with a touch of roasted malt. On the palate, it is medium in body with a smooth, watery-milky texture and soft carbonation.Overall, this is an acceptable dry stout, but nothing to write home about. The body is disappointingly light and the aroma and flavour are both disappointing. 2010-09-09

UPDATED: SEP 11, 2010 Creamy, bitter, soft carbonation, coffee, medium bitterness, long finish, great taste. One of the most accessible stout for beginners, because it’s bitterness is very manageable.

Eit mørkt Øl med sterk smak av. Tøft med nitrogen skom å greie. Smakar ein blanding av kaffi, kjellar, soya saus og eike stamme. Men eg likte det! Eit masse produsert øl eg kjem til å drikke masse av :)

Bottle. Traditional nitrogen foam Guinness head and dark pour. Roasty, some caramel and chocolate and coffee. Not too bad, somewhat bitter, easy to drink though. Creamy, but thin enough to drink a few in a sitting.
