chops (60), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Jul 19, 2008 I love this beer. I dont have access to alot of draft stouts but even if I did Im sure this would still be near the top of my list. I last had it after a round of golf while watching the British Open in a British pub eating some curry. It doesnt get much better than that 12many (231), Ohio, USA Jul 19, 2008 Draft. Ummm well there isn’t much to say about this because it was kind of like drinking dark matter. In theory it exists but my nose and tastes buds couldn’t prove it. Oh yeah, why doesn’t this head ever go away? It sits there and does nothing. No lacing or anything. I used to like Guinness a lot before I was introduced to real beer. Archibaldo de la Cruz (394), Finland Jul 19, 2008 Updated: Sep 4, 2008Draught. Very black in color with a beautiful creamy head. Quite strong roasted aroma. The flavor is coffee and roasted malt with notes of smoke. Full bodied and dry mouthfeel. Not the best stout but still fairly good. Tastes much better on tap. Avatar (82), Gliwice, Poland Jul 16, 2008 Bottle and on draft. Description will follow with new and fresh try of this one. tedovertu (259), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA Jul 16, 2008 Extremely tame stout. Awesome appearance. The best cascading head out there. It does taste pretty watered down for a stout. At 4.1% ABV it is a pretty tame stout. If your at the bar most likely this is the only beer that a true beer drinker could half way drink/appreciate. Brewmaster1 (9), Westchester, USA does not count Jul 15, 2008 I do love a glass of Guinness. It’s best out of a tap. I find the next best thing is buying it in the cans and pouring it into a glass. Bottles just don’t do it for me at all. It’s a little too watery out of can/bottle form. I’ve never seen a better head on any beer though. And who doesn’t love the way it looks when it’s poured? One of my top 5 favorite Tap beers to buy at a bar, for sure. brewcrew2002 (50), USA Jul 15, 2008 Not to bad still not one of my favorite stout beers, pours a solid dark with a tan head. smokey aroma. BusBoy (20), , California, USA Jul 14, 2008 Beyond what beer is, it is the best example of expert beer craft. Despite what the poster 2 down from me said about taking an " average stout. Mix it 50/50 with water.".... bilge and tripe... Guinness is the ORIGINAL STOUT! Before this there wasn’t one! The best brew on the planet.
It’s heaven slowly captured and condensed into a smooth black nectar that smells of peat smoke and ocean breeze. Thirst quenching to the last. Tastes better with eggs at breakfast than it does with steak at supper. Smooth, creamy head compliments the dynamic bitter character that gets the palate excited. The tingle of the Nitrogen charge brings the mellow, toasted finish to a close. Much nicer than the CO2 extra stout. I give this a 5!
