Snot19kilo (81), Oakwood, Illinois, USA Oct 2, 2009 14.9 oz can. Everyone has had this beer so i’m just going to say it has a very watery finish. not as bad from the can. It’s a weak stout. Black no real aroma and a slight coffee slight chocolate taste. but everything is still watered down. not as bad as murphy’s but close. I only drink this if i go out to eat and it’s the only dark beer they have. LanceUppercut (105), Sweden Oct 1, 2009 There is some notes of chocolate, malts and butter in aroma and taste, but its all very faint. Finish is dry, as should be. Poured rightly (an Irish friend once claimed that it has to do with gas pressure) this is not a bad brew. Bigmmartin (366), Dayton, Ohio, USA Sep 29, 2009 Updated: Nov 5, 200920oz Guinness Draught Can/Tap. Obviously a damn good looking beer. Pouring this beer and staring at it is just as much fun as drinking it. It’s too bad the nitro sacrifices much of the aroma and flavor though. Very little aroma. If you try you can pick out some hints of roasted malts and coffee aromas. Flavor is mild. Light roasted, dry stout, flavors. The palate is extremely creamy, but also thin and flat. The nitro is does a great job at making this extremely smooth and drinkable, but also makes it seem more like drinking skim milk. I enjoy this more on draught at a pub rather than from a can. Not sure why. More of a culture than just a beer. It’s a dependable beer that is always available. I still prefer the bottled extra stout though. NathanJM (30), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Sep 26, 2009 A nice, meaty stout. The foam rising to the top on the pour is something of a pretty sight. Notes of maltiness and coffee. This is my mainstay at the non-craftbeer bars. Jethro6191 (18), USA Sep 25, 2009 Can with widget. Pours black with a nice foamy head. Picked up a slight vinegar aroma at first then roasted malt and coffee. Slightly sour, finishes dry with a coffee and bitter chocolate flavor. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA Sep 25, 2009 Nitro can from Ireland. Opaque black with creamy beige head and nice lacing. Aroma is chocolate, roast, off-dry. Flavor is chocolate, roast, milky, nitro, chalky, bitter grain and ash. Medium to light, watery body with light creaminess from nitro. Not bad but that ashy, watery body always throws me off. Nicko (187), Ashfield, Australia Sep 24, 2009 Can with a widget. Full marks for appearance on this one, clearly this brewer works hard to at least present a decent looking beer. Not much really in any of the other departments; a little malt aroma, water thin body. nittanytide (33), Pennsylvania, USA Sep 21, 2009 From the tap. Looked the way a Guinness should look: smooth foamy head, dark lightly-fizzing body. Watery and very smooth. Slightly bitter. Not surprisingly, pairs well with almost any Irish food.
