Great whether it’s from bottle, can, or tap. My go-to beer that’s easy to find at most bars.

This one is made to drink from the bottle, but of course, it is hard to review a beer from its bottle. So, I reviewed this one in my Guinness glass... right after I drank the can/draught version. Do not see much of a difference. Pours the same colour with its cascade, same creamy head, same coffee smell and same great taste with bitterness, coffee and molasses. Seems just slightly nuttier, with a creamier mouthfeel and maybe a bit paler. The rest is the exact same as the can, just made to drink it a different way.

Bottle. This beer is fantastic. It’s light, creamy, and incorporates a hint of chocolate to its taste. It’s definitely one of my favorite beers to grab and enjoy with a few friends. Highly recommended.

Pint from can. Nice thick off-white head. Hint of coffee. Thick, almost syrupy. Rare combination of intense, thick texture with mild flavor. Very enjoyable.

Glass bottle. Thin aroma, just the slightest hint of coffee. Creamy and a little thin, odd combo. Not bad at all, but I need to try from tap before I can truly say I’ve enjoyed it.

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2010 What can be said about Guinness Draught...if you’re American, it’s like trying to critique "The Andy Griffith Show" or Aerosmith’s "Toys In The Attic" only applied to what is expected from imported beer. While I have been told that Guinness doesn’t "travel well" (be that from Ireland, the NE, or Canada), down here in Mis’ippi, I can attest that the aroma of Guinness Draught is pleasing to the point that it possesses one, and that nothing negative whatsoever can be said about its appearance: it is dark dark, with a volatile head that can be as thin as a dime or can fill the cup depending on the skill and consideration of your local bartender. The overall taste is muted and inoffensively hoppy in nature, almost totally devoid of any overtly malty influence. There does exist a bit of a chocolate-coffee undertone that becomes more pronounced in the finish/aftertaste, but this effect does not linger as the finish is uncommonly clean. Guinness Draught is never offenive to the senses, and can be viewed as one of the most "reliable" among the routinely available imports on tap at your local hangout.

I really love guinness mainly because i like what nitrogen does to beer. The head and mouth feel are so creamy. Tastes coffee-ish with some bitter sweet to finish it off. Over all, nothing flashy, just a classic good beer.
