Launched in 1961.

Nice aroma of chocolate, coffee. Poured with a good head, but with almost no carbonation. Beyond expiration? Overall lacking in flavor till the very end, then smoked coffee. I think there are better beers out there.

Draught in Fagan’s Drumcondra. The best looking beer in the world with the wonderful ceremony of the pour. Dry on the palate and always tastes of more.

Black as night with a creamy tan head. Roasted aroma. Must admit I am not a stout fan. The taste is not as strong as the look of the brew would have you believe. Thin and quite tangy. I do like it, certainly not my natural choice though.

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2010 One of the finest black beers in the market. Not an intense taste though it is the perfect match with nuts, pizza or every meal.A little bit loses in the palate as it lacks just a pinch in carbonation...

Black elixir, decent tan head, foamy lacing. Notes of coffee and chocolate. A bit thin tasting, with a slightly bitter aftertaste, like watered down expresso.
