4.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 thomasmmc (10) - New Jersey, USA - JUN 11, 2010
Everywhere, including the brewery in Dublin. This is the beer that started it all for me. The sight of the Guinness cascade on the bar and the anticipation of it settling with the thick white head ready for you to drink is one of life’s great pleasures.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 pkbites (478) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 7, 2010
Aroma is lacking. Black colored brew. Roasted malty aroma, some coffee. Flavor has roasted malts, nutty, coffee. Little chocolate. Creamy. The lack of aroma is a killer. This is beaten by Beamish hands down! Hands down! You want stout? This is fair. You want GOOD stout? Drink Beamish. Beamish beats this hands down!!!!!!!

Black colored brew. Roasted malty aroma, some coffee. Flavor has roasted malts, nutty, coffee. Creamy. Can’t go wrong on a Guiness.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 jesperhammer (1294) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 6, 2010
06-JUN-2010, can @home.
The nitro-thing does give it a very high and dense-looking foam. The color is a dull-grey-ish though. The body is brown and clear.
Nose is roasted. Taste is roasted, coffee and slightly bitter.
Palate is thin, way to thin.
A stout that is a thirst quencher?
The success in this beer must come from very poor rivals:(

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Vladivostok (77) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JUN 4, 2010
Nothing beats the sight of a pint of Guinness waiting on the bar, although we have to remember that it comes from a mega-brewing conglomerate who no longer let you tour their Dublin brewery, so Christ knows what goes into it. Actually, there is nothing in the flavour profile other than roast barley and bittering hops (or hop extract) so whatever else they use is well hidden. But Guinness is an institution like Wormwood Scrubs or Broadmoor, so we do have to pay it some respect. Personally, I save my Guinness drinking for those all too frequent winter Saturday evenings when Wycombe Wanderers have lost at home and I am all but inconsolable. If it doesn’t make me feel any better, it does at least mirror my mood.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Chalsk (824) - North Caldwell, New Jersey, USA - MAY 27, 2010
Draught bottle, with the nitrogen insert. Roasty, malty aroma. Pours a dark black color with a very thick off white foam head. Has a malty sweet taste with some very subtle bitters on the back end. Has notes of chocolate and charcoal. Very water mouthfeel, which has always killed this brew for me. But its a classic, and tasty nonetheless.
4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 bluegrass101 (4) - USA - MAY 25, 2010 does not count
A firm classic. Of course quality of the draught will decrease with increase of distance from the brewery. Provided the tap captain knows how to pull a pint properly, you shouldnt be disappointed.
