Guinness Draught

I am very disappointed in the Irish for coming up with this beer, I expect better from such fine drinkers.

Hardly credible to ’have a go’ at a mass produced stout. Guinness is Guinness, draught can is obviously nothing like on tap, but does an almost impossible job rather well.

Black with a creamy tanned head. Not much of an aroma here, some roasted malt. A subtle dry roasted malt flavour with a bitter finish. Thin bodied and really just an average stout.

Pours very dark with a fairly nice head. The nitro can seems to be effective, could certainly watch the head form for 30 seconds. Taste was surprisingly good. Chocolate, bitter, licorice, hints of coffee. Not bad for mass-produced, may buy again.

On tap @ Rula Bula in Tempe. Pours a deep black with a nice frothy brownish white head that has a wonderful nitro creaminess to it. Aroma of roasted barley, malts and a little coffee. Very smooth, with a slightly bitter finish and coffee, chocolate and a touch of soured guinness in between. This beer is a classic.

English pint from a 14.9 oz can. The beer poured a very dark brown/black with a very frothy, tan head. A very roasty aroma with a bit of smoke and coffee. The beer went down with a medium body and an abrupt, dry finish. Very roasty and dry flavor. Overall, I am getting used to dark beers, but I can’t go this dark yet. I will say this beer is constantly getting better as my tasting becomes better.

Dark brown with medium foamy tan head. Roasted malts & coffee aroma. Flavor of light roasted malts. Kind of thin & watery and goes down smooth with a light chalky finish. I can say what lots of other say about it being pretty good for a mass-produced beer but in the end to me it’s a below average stout.

Poors with no head and stures.. then creates a small head. The color is black. Aroma has malts and rosted smell. Flavor is of roasted malts. Very smooth and dry. Good beer
