halfonit (423), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA Apr 1, 2008 Updated: Jul 18, 2009The way it was meant to be drank!! Smooth, tasty, and filling. Not for a beginner. I’ll just leave it at that. Blom (390), Odense, Denmark Mar 30, 2008 Black with a low but creamy grey head. Weak aroma of roasted malts and berries. A nice dry flavour with roasted malts dominating and a perfect creamy texture. albertane (376), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England Mar 29, 2008 On tap at the New Foresters, Nottingham. Although it’s not a particularly good stout (and it’s almost universally served too cold), this is probably the best choice of beer at the kind of bar or pub which only has major "brands" served from kegs. Certainly, it’s fuller in flavour and tastier than John Smith’s (and much preferable to British brewed keg lager) although it’s watery and the bitter aftertaste can be slightly unpleasant. Skinnyviking (4142), Copenhagen, Denmark Mar 29, 2008 Can. Strange that I have not rated this before and then I buy a can, never mind. High creamy and lasting light brown head. Very dark almost black body. Sweet roasted barley malt aroma with strong coffee notes. Somewhat thin body with coffe and metallic notes. A bit sharp bitterness in the long aftertaste. Low carbonation. If you want a Guiness buy a draught version. FlssmrBrewAlum (1079), Lisle, Illinois, USA Mar 28, 2008 Bottle from a 6 pack in honor of St. Patrick’s Day from my Spring Break backlog. A great beer that I couldn’t believe I hadn’t rated yet. Thinner than most mouthfeel, but very creamy. Love the nitrogren pour as the beer is a very dark, almost black, with a very inviting head. Pleasant maltiness that is balanced by less intense hops well. Dry yet extremely satisfying. There isn’t much to say about this others have not already said. wacohoover (100), Garland, Texas, USA Mar 27, 2008 Most people either love Guinness or hate it. I like it a lot. I prefer the Foreign Extra Stout though, followed by the North American Extra Stout, but it’s still really nice to have a solid pint of Guinness. For the Draught, the order for me is Tap, then bottle, then can, of course, as the can leaves a slightly bitter taste. I love the way it looks. I love the creaminess. I love the chocolatey tones. But, maybe, above all else, I love the way it feels to drink a pint of Guinness. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Mar 26, 2008 Guinness may be the most beautiful beer to watch pour, black with mahogany highlights. An absolutely creamy thick tan head. Tiny bubbles darting around the glass. Spectacular. However the rest of the experience doesn’t live up. Aroma and flavor are good, but not great. Palate is rather thin and watery. Very refreshing, but doesn’t measure up to other available stouts. sudline (26), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 26, 2008 A perfect pour should look like a Bishop’s shirt with white collar. Looks beautiful coming from the tap or can. Mild and subtle aroma. Murky feel in the mouth. Tastes of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. Not particularly flavorful or warming, but great after a long day.
