Common theme on the reviews ... Used to love this beer, now I know better. Awesome looking beer. Taste is a bitter chocolate and roast. Body is watery thin, but still has some creaminess to it. Great starter beer - brings people in.

Wasn’t going to rate macro beers on here but as I’m striving to reach #2 in Ireland I’d better make an exception. Most recently sampled in Guinness storehouse, Dublin
Dark brown, full bodied, smooth but filling, roast barley, bare perception of hops. Just lacking flavour

Very nice beer. Dry and medium body. Thin and balanced between coffee and chocolate. Nice drinkability.

Appearance... Looks like a Guinness, is there any other way to put it. Classic taste of Ireland you can never go wrong with. Toasted malt hints of dark chocolate, the mild hop bitterness leaves a nice long finish. This is probably the best mass brewed beer in the world

Black beer with thick head. Scent has hints of burned malts not much else. Palate is so watery that its almost like drinking water. After taste is very unpleasant burned feel to it. And I liked this couple of years ago...

The appearance combines a very dark brown color with a large off-white head that fades quite slowly, and the aroma is reminiscent of roasted malts, caramel malts, and coffee. The taste fuses mildly sour flavors with mildly sweet ones, and the palate combines a medium body, thin texture, average and foamy-textured carbonation, and a long finish.

My favorite beer in the world, hands down. Nothing else comes close, nor ever has. If my wife drank it, we’d probably never buy another beer. Perfect maltiness meets that roasted barley richness, with a hint of coffee - goodbye hops!! Appearance is downright glorious - cascades of rippling stormclouds melt away into a beautiful night of black and ruby richness. Taste is downright delicious, not too bitter, nice and hearty, like sinking into a hot tub after a long day of toil. Smooth like milk, avoids the oilyness and over-carbonation of imitation stouts, carbonation is wonderfully minimal, finish is lingering and satisfying without leaving that bit of oily licorice tongue feeling like Murphy’s tends to. Many say that Guinness is far too heavy, but it’s just right to me. The perfect stout, it’s what I go for almost everytime.
