COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nitro-can, nitro-keg and nitro-bottle; Filtered
Usually called Draught; sometimes called Cold or Extra Cold - same beer, but served colder. Abv ranges from 4.1 to 4.3 % depending on where it was brewed (Guinness exports a hopped and concentrated wort to regional breweries who then brew it on site).
Launched in 1961.
Ingredients: Pale ale malt, about 25 to 30% flaked barley, and about 10% roasted barley, with no other grains or sugars; several hop varieties, mainly Goldings (pellets and isomerized extract); a flocculent head-forming ale yeast.

440ml can. Pours milky grey but quickly turns very dark with a thick lasting head. Probably one of the nicest looking beers out there once it has settled. Strong smell of liquorice with quite a thin mouthfeel. The taste is bitter and refreshing. Sets the standard for all stouts.

it’s the most widely available beer on the planet, and it’s very tasty. as long as the lines are relatively clean and the keg is somewhat fresh- this is always a treat.

Had this for the first time in many years in March 2016 - either it’s not as good as I remember or it was just this serving, but the rating: Poured cloudy dark brown with slight red tint - deep creamy beige head. Aroma a little musty with biscuits, grain and toast. Rather watery and lacking depth or bitterness.

Col ŕ la rétention éternelle, arômes de café léger, corps aqueux. Une mauvaise langue pourrait comparer cela ŕ de l’eau aromatisée.

Not bad.

Tap. Black, almost clear body, small creamy beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, dark malts. Taste is dry, moderately bitter. Coffee, chocolate, roasted malts. Light watery body, medium carbonation.
Acceptable, but too light for me.

The wolrd’s best draught stout. Best on - tap. To me, a legendary tap beer.

AROMA: Hard notes of coffee, bacon, and charcoal, along with a bit of chocolate. APPEARANCE: Opaque, black liquid with a tan, brown head that stays. TASTE: Very heavy bitter taste enforced by the charcoal and coffee notes. PALATE: Full bodied with a creamy texture. A soft bit of carbonation with a strong bitter finish. This is a very heavy beer, definitely not one you chug down at a party. This is a pub beer through and through. OVERALL: Guinness is an acquired taste, more so than a lot of the other beers in it’s price range. I generally prefer my beers on the lighter, more refreshing side, but every once in a whileI do enjoy a nice heavy, frothy draught to change things up.

Kolsvart med ljusbrunt nitro skum. Doftar och smakar lite rostat kaffe men är väldigt tunn.
