EValP (30), Colorado, USA Aug 4, 2006 Opaque pour with that fantastic creamy head that lasts the whole pint. This stout needs an appropriate pour to fully enjoy the taste and look. Even though I prefer the Extra Stout version, this is a decent commercialized stout beer. Burnt chocolaty and malt aroma, the taste is a bit light for me as far as stouts go. Not bad if poured correctly and you can get it on tap in allot of places so you can’t complain, better than having to go for a Coors on tap at a restaurant…my .02.
Necron99 (19), Clermont, Florida, USA Sep 3, 2008 A classic beer, pours black with a creamy head. Light malt aroma. Thick and creamy roasted malt flavor. Slightly milky and metallic finish, but still smooth. Hard to beat a good guinness. Lubiere (3250), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Sep 2, 2008 A dark clear brown stout with a creamy nitro light moka head. A light chocolate malt aroma, coming more clearly as beer warms up (served way too cold). In mouth, a nice peaty malt, roasted notes, especially when imbibing the foam. Lighter bodied, but overall, much superior to what we get in Canada. On tap at O’Neill’s, terminal 3, Heathrow. Mid Nov. 2006. JuStuka (143), , Mexico Sep 1, 2008 Dark color, creamyness on top, taste was very smokey with a touch of coffee wheresthepath (226), Buckinghamshire, England Aug 31, 2008 [Nitrokeg at Nut & Squirrel, Milton Keynes] For many, this is the definitive stout when served correctly. And alone out of the ubiquitous macro keg beers it lives up to its reputation and advertising, and is a decent, nay welcome fallback if you’re forced into a pub with nothing interesting available. You all know what it’s like, but for the record: Black body, thick and creamy lasting head. Aroma of roasted malt, taste of coffee and cream with a little smoke and a dryness on the tongue. Very easy to drink, and very comforting. Just let down a little by a slightly watery body and a hint of metals in the aftertaste. This was probably the first time I’d had it in a couple of years, but it lived up to my fond memories! BlackAndTan (2), Glen Carbon, Illinois, USA does not count Aug 30, 2008 Absolutely the best beer that I can say that I have had so far. There is nothing like sitting in McGurk’s in St Louis and taking down some Guinness or some Black n Tan’s. Go Irish, Go Guiness.
