had it on tap at many pubs throughout my life and i always enjoy its classic flavor and apperence. What a great floor show from the tap; it’s a black lava lamp. Goes well with burgers and lots of other food. In fact, it just goes down well in general.

Oct 11, 2008 It’s Guinnuess, if you haven’t had it then shame on you. It’s best on tap at a good pub but if that’s not available to you then try the can over the bottle. Seriously just go try it if you haven’t.

Oct 7, 2008 I have been waiting a while to rate this classic, because I wanted to have it the right way - draft, in a Guinness glass, and served to me in an attractive Irish pub. All these conditions were met, and all that was missing this time was the shamrock stenciled onto the head. I can see that it is one of the most rated beers on Ratebeer, and rightly so. For a long time it was my favorite, but it has been surpassed in my affections. Classy black pour with a foamy head. Lacking in aroma. The flavor is mostly burnt toast with mild hops in the finish. Not very malty either. Pretty good, and still enjoyable from time to time (if only for nostalgia’s sake). There are heartier and tastier stouts available.

Oct 1, 2008 Pours a dark brown with creamy tan head. Aroma is largely nutty. Body is creamy but not thick. Flavor is nutty with malt notes but not strong or overpowering. Bitter undertones.

Sep 30, 2008 16 oz. can. I love beer, but I can’t get down with Guinness, is something wrong with me? Looks beautiful, but I can’t get over how flat this brew is. Some horseradish or soy sauce flavors way down there...Thick and dark.

Sep 29, 2008 Well what colour do you think it is? Classic stiff ’moustaching’ head. Strong roasted barley flavour and with hops and yeast coming through. Malt finish. Lovely.
