I tried this beer on March 15, 2008 at ’McCabe’s Irish Pub’ in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. The beer was a dark murky brown with a thick, creamy tan coloured head that lasted a long time. The aroma was almost non-existent. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, but very little carbonation. The flavour was very reminiscent of diluted tea.

(Draught at Gravity Bar on 2008-07-02) Black. Medium-sized dense lightly tan head. Roasted malts and coffee in nose. Full and dry palate with some carbonation. Roasted malts, hint of coffee, tiny hint of chocolate. Some burnt taste. Slight bitterness in aftertaste.

Iconic appearance, with legendary white head. Acquired taste perhaps, but the malt and yeast are perfectly balanced, with distinctive signature bitterness.

I swear to God the palate used to be with a more full boady. Its a very watery taste these dayz. Like creamy, milky -H20 ,ashy fakeness. Whatever dogg.

I really enjoy this beer. Excellent pour, dark brown to black in color, tan head that lasts for the whole glass. Smooth and creamy. I’m not a coffee drinker but this stout has a very nice balance of flavors.
