GMUcrew7 (158), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Mar 17, 2008 Hard beer to rate since I really enjoy it, but it certainly doesn’t hold up well when compared to truly flavorful stouts. Probably the best looking beer when poured, the head is a wonderfully creamy light tan color that sticks around for the long haul, the body is a very deep brown/black. The flavor and aroma are what make rating this beer tricky, because they pale in comparison to other stouts. Roasted malts are somewhat noticeable as well as a somewhat metallic finish. It is a very smooth drink, but has a very light body. Overall a very enjoyable beer, in its own unique way.
cloudstrife (19), Rochester, New York, USA Jul 25, 2008 11.2 oz bottle. The aroma is of coffee for this stoutish beer. I drank this out of the bottle so I can’t say much about the appearance, but I remember from the bar that I really liked the waterfall. The flavor is similar to the taste of coffee. Medium bitterness, light sweetness. Creamy texture, flat in carbonation. Overall a very good taste, and easy to drink but lacking in the ABV. dcswirl (13), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jul 22, 2008 Nice dark color with frosty head. Rich flavor that tends to end rather abruptly. Very nice beer. I will concur with other posters here that it is not very good in cans or bottles. ewestern (39), Ohio, USA Jul 20, 2008 Pour is pretty amazing, nice dark black color with a cream colored head that you can see rise from the bottom. Slightly roasted aroma. Starts smooth with building flavor that ends abruptly and melds into a watery coffee mixture that finishes with a bitter coffee taste. gameface23 (44), Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA Jul 20, 2008 Somewhat of a watery mouthfeel for a stout, due to the nitrogen. Guinness draft always looks much better than it tastes. chops (9), Brantford, Ontario, Canada does not count Jul 19, 2008 I love this beer. I dont have access to alot of draft stouts but even if I did Im sure this would still be near the top of my list. I last had it after a round of golf while watching the British Open in a British pub eating some curry. It doesnt get much better than that
