Draught can version. Pours a dark brown that gives a deep red amber when held up to the light. Thick, pillowy head that is light tan in color and remains throughout. Aroma is rather restrained, but roasted malts are most discernible. Taste is of malts and some hops in background. Lightly bitter taste, with some slight sourness. A faint flavor of coffee is discernible. Palate is velvety smooth, like drinking cream. Overall, this classic is a fine, but not remarkable, stout. This particular version is more notable for the appearance and palate (both due to the nitro can) than for its aroma or taste. Try to appreciate the former, but look to other versions of Guinness for the latter.

Serving: from (nitro) tap at Doyle’s Public House. Aroma: none. Appearance: small, creamy, off-white, initial head with fair lacing and fully lasting longevity. Dark-brown/black body. Taste: lightly bitter and moderately smokey initial flavor and lightly bitter finish with average duration. Palate: medium-to-full bodied with oily texture and flat carbonation. Overall: always good.

While I certainly appreciate the creamy texture, and I respect the draft-quality pour that comes from even the bottled version of Guiness, I personally do not enjoy the taste of this beer. I also was disappointed with the relatively low alcohol content of this beer, as I had to drink four of em last St. Patty's day before I could feel a buzz. Also I find the beer to be too heavy to be enjoyable. It is a beautiful beer with an exceptionally unique taste, and I have to respect it as an international classic. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Appearance: Pours very dark reddish-brown, almost black, but has a creamy pale tan head. The head is thick and lasts a long time due to the nitrogen bubbles. Reasonably good lacing down the glass, but not as much as I was expecting. Aroma: Faint ’stout’ smell of dark malts with a little roast. Also a hint of apricots. Taste: Roast barley (although it doesn’t stand out), malt (although it doesn’t stand out), a slight mineral taste (although it doesn’t stand out), and a touch of sourness (although it doesn’t stand out). Mouthfeel: A much lighter body than to be expected, but thickened slightly due to the soft nitrogen carbonation. Overall: I can’t shake the feeling that this world-famous beer (probably the most famous of the stouts?) relies on a combination of marketing and its nitrogen widget for its success. Attempting to disregard the aspects that the nitrogen lends to the beer, it is actually very simple and unimpressive. It’s not bad, but it just isn’t good.

Draught at pub. Classic Irish beer. Always love one of these. A tad watery, but a very nice stout. Coffee, a bit roasted, some hints of caramel.

Very thick head that lasted longer than the beer. Malty, mildly hoppy and bittersweet. Slightly chocloatey flavor that became more pronounced as the beer warmed

Tradição e certeza de coisa boa, a secura e o equilibrio que não deixa predominar café ou chocolate fazem dela um clássico sempre presente em minha geladeira.
