Launched in 1961.

Pours dark brown with light tan head. The aromas are simple yet strong, with coffee, roasted malt and dark chocolate all powerful on the nose, with a hint of spice. The texture is a little on the watery side, as is the flavour. Coffee and roasted malt dominate with a subtle biscuity flavour which adds a bit of body, but not much. A classic stout.

14.5 ounce can with the nitrogen widget thing. Poured at an angle and at refrigerator temp into a 20 oz. mug. As usual, the nitrogen bubble induced head....long lasting and totally luscious! Body of the beer totally opaque. Little carbonation. Dry palate with notes of cocoa and vanilla ice cream. Very tasty. I’m gonna have to start drinking this more often!

W aromacie lekka kawowość z kwaskowością na czele. Piwo barwy ciemnej z piękną brązowawą pianą. W smaku lekka kawa zbożowa, może gdzieś trochę kakao, kwaskowe no i dosyć puste w finiszu. Może być, lecz zbytnio nijakie.

Draft at Sligo. The huge tan, tasty head on a medium bodied black stout. Watery compared to my preferred American imperial stouts, but a very good dry session beer. Roasted malt aroma and taste, with a mild finish.
