3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Labeled Guinness Draught, brewed in Dublin, 11.2 oz. bottle. The standard Guinness bottle is 12oz. and is brewed in Canada.
Pours a dark brown with a large, dirty head. Aroma of sweet caramel and dough. Not overly sweet in flavor, but well-balanced and much less toasty malts than one would suspect from the color. Actually a very good ale. The Guinness I’ve had in Ireland is better, but this is still a delicious stout.

16 ounce can with widget. Smell a little coffee. Dark black in color with big beige creamy head. Taste some coffee, kind of thin, very smooth. Enjoyable for a commercial stout.

Poured from nitro can into a classic Guinness glass. Colour is opaque black and slight ruby around the edges with long lasting white head. Aroma is not substantial, hints of roasted coffee, no noticeable hops. Taste is lightly malty with notes of roast coffee and a light tang on the finish that makes you want to take another gulp. The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. The body and balance of this beer are really exceptional.

This is what all commercial beer should be. Perfect balance, palate, head, aroma. It just doesn't get better.

Tap@Kennedys, Copenhagen - can’t believe I had not rates this yet - dark brown to black with a thick beige head. Toasted and light roasted malty, smooth mouthfeel, sweet and toasted malty into the finish.

4.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Very dark with a slight ruby sheen. No strong hop aromas but this accentuates the taste. Rich and creamy in appearance with good head retention thanks to the nitrogen system. No strong hop flavours and a smooth creamy taste with a slight twang after consumption that craves for more.
One of the best stouts out there.
Quick tip, ask your server to pull the pint straight up without stopping, the stop and top up is a Guinness ploy to make the beer more special, don’t believe the hype.

Smell of dish water and money saving techniques contribute to a really lame dark ale that really tastes like chewing a dirty cloth
