Watery, lacks body, low bitters tastes like a tooheys extra dry, they use the word crisp to advertise a stout? I should have realized at that point.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours cola colored with ruby highlights, large 2 finger frothy head. Aromas of leather, Vegemite, sweet toffee. The taste is similar but as others have mentioned, it has a metallic edge & lacks the creaminess of proper Guinness. Medium bodied. Not horrible but not great.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at Landsdowne Road Irish Tavern, Surfers Paradise. Poured an opaque black with a ruby edge tint and with a 5mm light tan dense and creamy head that retained extremely well (to the end of the drink) but laced poorly in spots. Aroma very subtly of roasted malt. Taste of sweet malt (quite sweet for a stout) followed by faint bitterness. Palate quite heavy but with a nice creamy mouthfeel. Very smooth and creamy with a long dry slightly bitter finish. A good stout.

The most amazing Irish stout beer that I tasted, and one of the greatest to me, also the first stout tasted. Anyway, this beer have a very nice aroma, including chocolate, coffee and caramel. The appereance is black, very black in deed, a clear, but with a little hazy/cloudy semblance, the head is very large, frothy and creamy, being this, maybe the great atractive of this beer. It have lower sweetness and a lightly sour touch for the taste, being a good combination to keep and producing a great sensation in the mouth.
Full bodied, with a thick/creamy texture and very fizzy, with a bitter and and a little astringent finish, giving a cool sensation after the drop. Very drinkable and great for a cold winter afternoon or a rainy day in the summer.
Oysters and Guinness is a combination of world-class!

1.4 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Pours jet black with a light tan head. Taste is very metallic and masks the chocolate and coffee flavours. The hops are not balanced. Little aroma present. A drinkable stout, but not a memorable one.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Black pour with very little head. Toasted malt aroma, and a slightly off note. Taste is metallic, a little chocolate, toasty malt. Not a patch on the draught.

Could not believe how poorly Guinness has travelled to Oz. The hop balance is off, leaving a sharp metallic taste with none of the substance I expect as a devout Guinness fan. Comparing this version to the tap versions found in Dublin means ratings suffer terribly, sadly. At least much of the warming appearance remains.
