Quite different from the nitro can or on tap versions of Guinness. Still pours a deep black, but with a thinner and less long-lasting head. There’s not a huge nose, and that’s reflected in the rather milder taste profile. There’s chocolate, malt and a light metallic hint to it. Carbonation is very light, making it easy to drink. Still very smooth, although I think I prefer the draught.

Dark brown almost black with a frothy lasting thick tan nice lacy head. Nice roasty nut smell of malt with caramel, salt, . Medium frothy smooth body with soft carbonation. Sweet suger caramel start with a bitter dry roast finish. Not too bitter on the finish. Very enjoyable a cracking Stout.

This is something I have when I’m out and about or if I want my fix on Guinness and I’m not willing to go out to a pub and get it on tap. Not as good as it is on tap but it’s still jizz worthy.

Dark brown in colour with a persistant mocha foam. Light malty aromas show through a hint of yeastyness. The flavour rich malt and quite an estery dry finish....

bottled, one of my first 2 or 3 beers tasted at about age 15 (with sunday roast at the dinner table) and a few times since. the body couldn’t be much blacker nor the head much beiger; salty aroma of vegemite and burnt toast; minimal sweetness, hints of rusty gutters and buttermilk; seems unremarkable these days

pours black with a thick brown head,with some good coffee aromas,taste is fairly standard but miles ahead of the draught. -

750mL bottle Suprised I haven’t rated this. Had a couple of "longies" to celebrate St Pats day. Black body, dense deep tan head persists. Perhaps not as appealing looking as its streamlined nitro’d draught cousin, but has a rustic charm about it...as stouts should. Aroma is somewhat muted, yet has a richness to it. Malty; lots of burnt sugar, charcoal, black toast and bitter chocolate, with an edge of earthy hop. Texture is quite thick, almost oily, lingers long on the palate. Creamy sort of carbonation, dries out towards the finish. Quite a savoury roasted sort of flavour about it. I’m talkin’ roast red meat, black plum skins, bitter leaves, cocoa, coffee grinds, burnt toast and dark brown sugar. Firm bitterness, some leafy hop character lingers. Real serious stuff, widely available. Probably not in the same league as Coopers stout - in the same price range and availablilty - bit a far superior beer to that watery draught stuff.

Draft. Perfect looking brew with a dark black/brown body and a thick milkshake like head. The lacing is more like cake batter than anything. The smell is somewhat sweet roasted malts and a hint of minerals. The taste is very thin, almost lager like with weak roasted malts, but a serious mineral component that adds both bitterness and sweetness. Really not what I am used to having in the States. Still it is hard to find anything dark in Australia, so I was happy to try this.

Very big taste, bitter sourness due to the amount of iron from what I hear, on tap in Dublin it comes out like toast and milk

Bottle. Black body with garnet hints, large off-white head. Aroma-taste: blackberries, toast, some smokiness; significant roast bitter finish. Moderate carbonation; medium bodied.
