COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For Continental Europe, to stay in conformance with the German Purity Law, Guinness produces an all-malt version, replacing the flaked barley.

Bottle 330 ml
Appearance: dark brown ale with large thick and creamy head.4+
Nose: Soft creamy aroma with gentle dark roast hints.6+
Flavor/Palate : Medium full bodied . Very creamy texture with slight acidic side , dark roasty feel played behind. Creamy texture covered everything else which is unfortunate. I would like to see more of toasted malt here.

Almost black color with creamy and cloudy beige head.Aroma is sweet roasty caramel malty. Flavor is roasty malty at first but finish is somewhat watery. In the aftertaste roastiness emerges again. Palate is light- to medium-bodied, a bit watery, soft and not much carbonated.

Sampled on draught several times across europe: pours a thick black colour, with a large creamy brown top. Head is quite aromatic, roasted malts and hints of coffee. Taste is pleasent, creamy and satisfying. Semi sweet and filling.

I believe this is the one I had in France and Spain. Served from this little plastic light up draft. Looks great, tastes a little more thin than the US version. Doesnít have that fullness I was expecting, probably from the lack of the flaked barley. Dry finish.
