COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Labatt’s brew a pale ale base to which is added the unfermented but hopped Guinness wort extract. Guinness Extra Stout is brewed in Canada by Labatt under license from Arthur Guinness Son & Company. Editor’s Note: It looks like Moosehead is also brewing Guinness. Bottles in the US are from there of late, but Canadian bottles are still showing Labatt. 04/23/06

Not as good as draught style. A smooth, smoky stout that doesn't have much body to it. Even when it's lukewarm it tastes COLD, which is interesting.

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2008 Pours a deep black with a tan head. Bitter and very roasted like burnt coffee. This is the king of the Irish stouts

The new Guinness Draught Bottle is a vast improvement on this one.

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2003 Not as good as guinness stout. Needs nitro. Higher ABV and some more depth of flavor would be nice.

Guinness is a nice standard stout, but it definitely lacks the complexity and flavor of some microbrew stouts out there.

I still don’t understand the fixation with this. The draught is tasteless, and this only adds a few extra dashes of roasted nastiness. I thought the bitter was unpleasant and that yeasty, malty, roasted whatever-it-is just sat at the back of my mouth jabbing my tonsils with some implement of bad taste. I do appreciate the fact that the extra stout tried to actually have some flavor (unlike its watery brethren) but it was, sad to say, unsuccessful.

is not the same since they started brewing it in cananda, but still solid. from the pub is the best way to enjoy this brand though
