COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Labatt’s brew a pale ale base to which is added the unfermented but hopped Guinness wort extract. Guinness Extra Stout is brewed in Canada by Labatt under license from Arthur Guinness Son & Company. Editor’s Note: It looks like Moosehead is also brewing Guinness. Bottles in the US are from there of late, but Canadian bottles are still showing Labatt. 04/23/06

You can’t go wrong with Guinness but the flavor seems to be getting weaker as the years go by.

Nothing else quite like this extra stout. Bitter and smokey. Roasted and charcoal flavors penetrate this brew. I really like this stout. Others don’t like it at all.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2004 The beer equivalent of a slimfast. Drink one instead of eating a meal, and you could maybe lose some weight. Very dark, dry, and chocolate/coffee-like. Excellent Khaki-coloured head, Bitter in a very good way. Drink it after something less sweet but pretty toasty (like New Belgium's Fat Tire), and it has a very fruity flavor, not unlike Red Stripe. Try it if you don't beleive me.

Much more bitter than their draught style. This beer had a weird sweet aroma/flavor that I just couldn’t get used to. I think it might have been an alcohol taste, but there’s not that much alcohol in it. Black as could be with a nice thick tan head.

Lack of head. This stout is a filler.

Hummm, Guinness is best had in a pint glass at a pub in Dublin. I like this stuff though, beats any american brew hands down

Draft is the only way to have this brew.

Hints of chocolate, black coffee, burnt toast. Nice and full, always a readily available favorite.

Very Smooth. Slightly bitter. Dark and creamy. A bit thin but still a good beer.

Not as good as the stuff out of the tap in London. Has a slightly better taste considering the bottle over the can.
