COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Labatt’s brew a pale ale base to which is added the unfermented but hopped Guinness wort extract. Guinness Extra Stout is brewed in Canada by Labatt under license from Arthur Guinness Son & Company. Editor’s Note: It looks like Moosehead is also brewing Guinness. Bottles in the US are from there of late, but Canadian bottles are still showing Labatt. 04/23/06

I find this a lot more enjoyable than regular Guinness in any shape or form. Bitterness is the only difference I really see here besides more apparent carbonation than draught/tap versions.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2013 Thin and bitter. Loses some creaminess when not on draft. Still black as night, but no cool cascade effect on the pour. Holds a small tan ring of head and leaves some lacing. Slight more bitter than the draft version, especially in the aftertaste. Some tang and plenty of roast.

Black as night and tastes like half beer and half coffee. Will wake up the ol’ tastebuds.

Very black in color with rather large long lasting head. Aroma of black cherry and malt. Taste of old coffee. Tangy on the finish with a rather unpleasant aftertaste. Seems pretty unrefined.

Not bad. Very roasty and bitter. Little flavor aside from the bitterness though. Too thin. Great foamy head.

This is a good stout. It is smooth on the palate, and well balanced with flavor. It has a nice, dark look to it with a good head.

Bottling really killed this beer. It is much better on tap.

Why did I even try to drink this out of the bottle. Why do they even bottle it this way. This is a beer that needs to come out of the can with the widget (if you must), or preferably on tap.
