COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Labattís brew a pale ale base to which is added the unfermented but hopped Guinness wort extract. Guinness Extra Stout is brewed in Canada by Labatt under license from Arthur Guinness Son & Company. Editorís Note: It looks like Moosehead is also brewing Guinness. Bottles in the US are from there of late, but Canadian bottles are still showing Labatt. 04/23/06

People! this is not the same as the guinness one would usually find at a pub on draft... of course, you already knew that didnít you... i love this beer, if only because i began to love the extra stout before i had the draft version... roasted and malty as all hell, nice dry finish... the coffee of beers

I love this stout. I find it much better than the draft and nitro cans/bottles. It just has more flavor. Great burnt bitterness that I love. Probably my favorite stout, not including the strong Imperial stouts.

pitch black with good head but not as creamy as in the can, more robust than the cans too, itís just richer. Canít drink too many of these, they fill ya up, but taste better than about any other beers at the grocery store.

roasted hazelnutty aroma, thickest mouthfeel of any beer in the world, a bitter but pleasant balance of roasted malt and hops, overall a charming beer. Mainly a relaxation beer, I prefer the draught however.

You canít go wrong with Guinness but the flavor seems to be getting weaker as the years go by.

Nothing else quite like this extra stout. Bitter and smokey. Roasted and charcoal flavors penetrate this brew. I really like this stout. Others donít like it at all.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2004 The beer equivalent of a slimfast. Drink one instead of eating a meal, and you could maybe lose some weight. Very dark, dry, and chocolate/coffee-like. Excellent Khaki-coloured head, Bitter in a very good way. Drink it after something less sweet but pretty toasty (like New Belgium's Fat Tire), and it has a very fruity flavor, not unlike Red Stripe. Try it if you don't beleive me.

Much more bitter than their draught style. This beer had a weird sweet aroma/flavor that I just couldnít get used to. I think it might have been an alcohol taste, but thereís not that much alcohol in it. Black as could be with a nice thick tan head.
